Back ho, Mr. Augustus was making tofu pudding, and Mrs. Augustus was taking orders on her phone, both busy with their tasks.

When they saw Cherry coming back with a cat, they were surprised.

"Where did the cat co from?"

"Uh, um... soone else’s, probably got lost!" Cherry made up an excuse, "I’ll return it in a few days."

Mrs. Augustus nodded upon hearing this: "The person who lost the cat must be very anxious, probably a resident in the community. Ask the property managent whose cat is missing and return it quickly."

Cherry replied briefly and took the cat to her room.

The apartnt they were renting was a three-bedroom two-living room type; the dining and kitchen area was for making tofu pudding, and there were a lot of raw materials in the living room, really not suitable for pets.

Unless the black cat was kept in her bedroom all the ti, otherwise, what if cat hair got into the tofu pudding?

Food hygiene was a big issue, and there was an even bigger problem—what about Octopus?

Octopus needed to eat live creatures; even if she was diligent and fed it a chicken every couple of days, what would she do with the drained chicken carcass? At the community’s garbage bin, there were old n and won picking up old cardboard boxes every day! Would they be scared to death if they saw the eerie carcass? Would strange rumors spread? How would she explain it to Mom and Dad?

A series of problems made Cherry feel a headache coming on.

The black cat, unaware of any issues, was curiously exploring the new environnt.

However, clearly Cherry’s bedroom was too small compared to the Graves Family’s mansion. After a lap around, it started to paw at the window, habitually wanting to play in the garden.

"I’m on the 12th floor here!" Cherry scolded, picking up the cat, "There’s no garden outside, only a bunch of rowdy kids! Got it?!"

"ow~~"

At this mont, Mrs. Augustus walked into the room, "I almost forgot, Blaire Davis’s letter arrived again today."

She handed over the letter in her hand and smiled, "In this day and age, boys who still write letters are rare."

"Let see, let see!" Cherry said excitedly, grabbing the letter and starting to open it.

The letter paper was a thin page, written with a mix of prose and poetry love letter, overflowing with affection between the lines, making her feel refreshed and all smiles.

"The guy has been writing letters for two weeks straight, and you haven’t replied once." Mrs. Augustus said, lightly scolding.

"I can’t reply," Cherry explained.

Mrs. Augustus asked, "Why not?"

Cherry, having enjoyed reading, folded the letter carefully along with the envelope and previous letters, and sighed, "If he saw my handwriting, it would shatter his illusions."

— She had to maintain her goddess-like image.

Mrs. Augustus, thinking more long-term, said, "If you think he’s worth it, find a chance to explain everything to him. If he can accept it, great; if not, forget it, we don’t need to cling to him."

Since Cherry had never gone to school and had no degree, while Blaire Davis was a college student, Mrs. Augustus was worried her daughter might get invested in a relationship and then face rejection, ending up heartbroken.

From outside, Mr. Augustus chid in, "I think Blaire Davis isn’t that shallow! Besides, Cherry has good prospects; even without Blaire, she can find soone better. I find our neighbor Sonny is nice."

Mrs. Augustus couldn’t help but laugh, "Of course, we always see our own child as wonderful."

Cherry hesitated, "Do I really have to co clean? But I feel things are great as they are now."

She rather enjoyed this feeling of being pursued... it was like the world was filled with love, and it felt really good.

A knock sounded at the door, and Mr. Augustus opened it to find their neighbor Sonny.

The young, handso lad stood at the door, smiling, "Mr. Augustus, is Cherry ho? I’m moving out tomorrow. Didn’t she say last ti that she liked my money plant? It’s hard to carry while moving, so if you don’t mind, you can keep it."

"Huh? Why are you moving when things were going so well?" Mr. Augustus asked.
