"No plans." Cherry said casually, "I’ll just follow my master around, eat and drink with him. Wherever he goes, I’ll go. Whatever he wants to do, I’ll do."
Purple Sumrs put down her teacup, the porcelain making a crisp sound.
The sound wasn’t loud, but anyone who knew her would realize she was already angry.
"If your master asks you to eat shit, would you do it?" Purple Sumrs asked.
Cherry’s eyes widened, round and fierce, ready to explode.
She was about to lash back but suddenly rembered that Purple liked to threaten her with dogs. She bit her lower lip, looked around, and saw Alexander Sumrs, shouting at him: "Your wife is cursing! Aren’t you going to do sothing?!"
Alexander Sumrs politely smiled and turned back to his room: "You two chat, I’m going to catch so sleep."
Cherry was furious. What kind of people are these?!
Purple Sumrs asked her: "Have you ever considered living independently?"
"How could I? If you’re a ghost, you must have a master." Cherry frowned and said, "It’s like how humans need to get married; everyone gets married. If you’re not married, you’re an outcast, looked down on and pitied. There’s a term called ’aging spinster’, isn’t there? I know it’s not a nice term!"
"Incorrect." Purple Sumrs shook her head gently, "People don’t pity spinsters; they pity poor spinsters."
Cherry was left speechless.
Purple Sumrs continued: "Also, don’t you find yourself very odd? I rember when we lived in that shabby house, you were pretending to be mature, talking in a cutesy, childish voice despite being old enough, making lose my appetite..."
"You’re disgusting!" Cherry suddenly stood up, her neck flushed red with anger, "You’re the disgusting one! Bleeding all over the bed during puerperium! Changing sanitary pads every day! Every single day! And still so much blood! I even had to help you throw out the trash! Gross!!!—"
Purple Sumrs: "..."
Deep breath...
After calming herself a bit, she continued: "Let’s not even talk about that. I find you strange — as a ghost, you insisted on living like a human, but now that you’re human, you want to live like a ghost. Isn’t it contradictory?"
Cherry was slightly taken aback.
Purple Sumrs said: "Now you have a good appearance. You don’t need to take over soone else’s body or feed on their soul, and if that knife never gets found, no one can catch you. Basically, you can live like a normal person; why make yourself neither human nor ghost?"
Cherry pressed her lips together silently, frowning as if deep in thought.
"I asked you here because I feel our differences aren’t that significant. We can seek common ground while respecting differences and reach a reconciliation. As long as you don’t cross my bottom line, I’m actually not soone who ddles."
Purple Sumrs gently persuaded, seeing Cherry’s expression seem to soften, she softened her tone further and pressed on: "Cherry, I know you want to be human, but what kind of person do you want to be? Soone everyone likes, or soone everyone dislikes and fears?"
Cherry thought for a mont in silence and then pursed her lips, saying, "I want to be soone like you."
Purple Sumrs was taken aback, then smiled triumphantly, curling her lips: "You want to be a lawyer?"
"Not exactly..." Cherry lowered her head with a small sigh, "I just feel like everyone likes you..."
Purple Sumrs blinked, puzzled: "Everyone?"
"Yeah." Cherry replied softly, with a hint of sadness, "Alexander Sumrs likes you, Nathaniel Sumrs likes you, Gavin Graves likes you too..."
"No, no!" Purple Sumrs quickly waved her hands, smiling awkwardly, "No way, you got it wrong."
Cherry looked puzzled: "Did I get it wrong? It was Sister Lemon who told ."
"Who is Sister Lemon?"
"Gavin’s ex-girlfriend."
"How would his ex-girlfriend know?"
"Alina told her."
Not waiting for Purple Sumrs to ask further, Cherry continued: "Alina was Gavin’s ex-ex-girlfriend."
Inside ca Alexander Sumrs’ roar: "Bastard!!! I spent money to redeem his wife, and he’s eyeing my wife!!!"
