Purple Sumrs hadn’t seen Gavin Graves in a long ti.
Not only in real life, but even on TV news, there was almost no news about him.
It was only in the past two months, because the wedding date was approaching, that news about the Graves Family preparing the wedding reception began to appear.
Strangely enough, a prestigious family like the Graves would typically engage one to three years prior to a wedding.
However, regarding Gavin’s wedding, Purple Sumrs counted the ti from when she received the news to when the wedding date was set; it fully sumd up to only six months.
Really very rushed.
Once Gerald Graves wandered elsewhere, Purple Sumrs and Alexander Sumrs discussed, "Not being able to attend the wedding is already quite rude. How about we prepare so gifts and send them early to bless him?"
Alexander Sumrs lazily said, "No need, even if we prepare gifts, we might not be able to reach him."
"Why?" Purple Sumrs looked at him, puzzled. "Do you know where he is?"
Alexander Sumrs glanced at her without speaking.
Purple Sumrs tugged at his sleeve and urged quietly, "Tell ."
Alexander Sumrs leisurely took a sip of wine and said blandly, "Eat your food, why bother about him."
"Can’t I be curious?!" Purple Sumrs glared at him.
"Sure." Alexander Sumrs glanced around, leaned down to her ear and said, "He got into trouble, probably flew abroad to find a mage now."
Purple Sumrs was stunned by his words, not understanding.
"What do you an?... Got into trouble?"
"Yeah." Alexander Sumrs wrapped his arm around Purple Sumrs’ waist, discreetly leading her to a corner of the banquet hall, chatting as they walked.
"About a year ago... after he ca back from abroad, he found himself suffering from a strange illness. Initially thought it was a skin allergy, but after taking dicine, it didn’t improve. He gradually consulted several doctors, none could diagnose the cause, and the symptoms worsened. Everyone was at a loss. Finally, a doctor privately suggested he visit a mage, suspecting he might have picked up sothing unclean abroad."
Purple Sumrs’ eyes widened in shock, "Does this an... he’s possessed?"
"Possibly." Alexander Sumrs nodded slightly, "That illness of his is indeed rather bizarre."
"Can’t they find a solution? Hunter Dalton and Mr. Ghost Hayes could check it out, doesn’t Hunter’s shop sell a lot of exorcising trinkets?"
"They’ve looked into it. Almost every mage available in the country has been consulted." Alexander Sumrs said, "Once news of the Graves family head’s trouble spreads, it could cause a big scandal, so when they invited mages, they didn’t reveal their identity, only showed the wound to the mages. All of them had no idea, saying it was Western sorcery; they had neither encountered it nor treated it."
Even dostic mages and sorcerers have different branches. Let alone foreign sorcery, with unknown thods, naturally they wouldn’t know how to resolve it, otherwise, there wouldn’t be the saying that one who ties the bell must untie it.
Alexander Sumrs continued, "Soone said there’s an old lady in Peachwater Village who’s very skilled at fortune-telling. Gavin went for a reading, and the old lady said nothing except to urge him to get married quickly."
"Get married?" asked Purple Sumrs, "Did the divination suggest he should marry?"
"Probably ans he won’t live long, so he’s urged to marry quickly and leave a bloodline." Alexander Sumrs sighed slightly. Although he often finds Gavin unpleasant, he feels it’s unfair for him. "Dying like this is too unfortunate."
Purple Sumrs still found it unbelievable, or rather, she found it hard to accept.
How could a perfectly healthy person inexplicably be about to die?
She furrowed her brow and asked half-doubtfully, "In such a big matter, how can Second Young Master Graves act like nothing’s wrong? He doesn’t seem worried about his brother at all."
"That guy can’t keep his mouth shut; fill him with so liquor, and you can coax anything out of him, how could they possibly tell him? Besides, even if they told him, he wouldn’t be able to help."
Alexander Sumrs glanced at Purple Sumrs, his expression sowhat amused, "By the way, speaking of which, the person Gavin is marrying this ti is actually related to you."
