Jade hurried upstairs to Nathaniel Sumrs’ room.

She carefully picked out a dress, drew the curtains, and prepared to change. As she did so, she caught a glimpse of the little western-style house hidden in the shadows of trees in the distance.
A lowly foster-daughter, who dared to try and ingratiate herself with the Jason family—what a joke. People should know their place.
Jade stood by the window, laughing coldly.
Right then, Nathaniel entered the room.
He saw the dress in Jade’s hands and thought it looked familiar, but didn’t think much of it, asking only, “I heard that the Jasons are holding a banquet today to invite you?”
Jade smiled, her lips pressed together, implying confirmation.
Nathaniel assud the rumor he’d heard was true.
He had been very concerned about Henry’s case and imdiately asked Jade, “Henry has always been law-abiding and would never do such a thing. Jade, you have to find a way to help him.”
Jade didn’t take it seriously. Regardless of how law-abiding one was, had Nathaniel not been just as obedient in the past, like a disciplined monk? And in the end…
Nathaniel asked again, “When are you going?”

Nathaniel frowned, feeling it was unfair to ask Henry to accept such a girl. But on second thought, he considered that they could break up later if necessary and pay so money to settle the situation.
“Nathaniel, you haven’t given a gift for my promotion to prosecutor,” Jade looked at him with a bright smile, her eyes filled with anticipation.
Nathaniel was slightly stunned, recalling it was indeed true. At the ti, he had promised to celebrate with her, but then Suzanne had an accident, and he’d lost the mood for celebrations…
If Jade could really help Henry this ti, he should indeed show his gratitude.
