Chapter 1398: Chapter 1398: The Final Compromise

Janelle Roberts caused a scene at the Sumrs Family, and Old Master Sumrs seed genuinely apprehensive, no longer ntioning the overseas studies. He just occasionally sighed deeply at ho, looking troubled and preoccupied.

Every ti Atra Blanc witnessed this, she felt uneasy, always suspecting that the issue was sohow connected to her. Subconsciously, she beca even more dedicated in taking care of Old Master Sumrs.

Clyde Sumrs got his wish and stayed, officially becoming a third-grade student preparing for exams.

Joining him in furthering their education were Blondie and Bighead. However, neither of them intended to take the exams.

After graduation, Blondie planned to go back and inherit the family factory, while Bighead intended to study music elsewhere, ambitiously hoping to beco a singer.

For Clyde Sumrs, getting into a regular university wasn’t challenging, but he had high expectations for himself, aiming to get into the top university with outstanding grades.

Seeing his son’s diligent efforts, the gloom in Old Master Sumrs’s heart gradually dissipated.

After winter set in, Old Master Sumrs’s condition worsened, with a severe cough that didn’t improve despite the dication prescribed by the doctor.

Atra Blanc peeled and cored fresh pears, filled them with fritillaria and sugar, and stead them for Old Master Sumrs to eat, both in the morning and evening.

After a while, Old Master Sumrs grew tired of the sweets, so Atra Blanc managed to make Solomon’s seal and lily quail Soup to warm and soothe the lungs and stop the cough. She served him a bowl every night, and the symptoms indeed improved.

If any servant in the house felt unwell and didn’t want to take dication, they would also ask Atra Blanc for appropriate dietary therapy. Her gentle and thoughtful manner, combined with her kindness, endeared her to everyone at the Sumrs Residence.

One afternoon, Old Master Sumrs fainted while strolling in the garden and woke up already in a hospital bed, with an IV Drip hanging by his bedside.

The primary doctor said, “Your caregiver did an excellent job. The situation was quite critical. If she hadn’t helped clear your phlegm in ti, even bringing you to the hospital might have been too late.”

Upon hearing this, Old Master Sumrs realized that Atra Blanc had saved his life.

Though he didn’t have a favorable impression of Atra Blanc, he couldn’t deny that she was extrely diligent and conscientious in her caregiving, attending to him ticulously and thoroughly.

Old Master Sumrs pondered for a long ti and finally called Atra Blanc into the hospital room, asking everyone else to leave, so only the two of them remained.

“You know, I actually don’t approve of Clyde and you being together,” Old Master Sumrs asked her.

This was his first ti ntioning the matter to Atra Blanc.

Atra Blanc pursed her lips and nodded, “I know.”

Old Master Sumrs said, “You are a good girl—young, beautiful, kind, and expecting nothing in return. Though you are five years older than Clyde… that’s not particularly significant. My opposition to your relationship is mainly because…”

He sighed slightly, looking at Atra Blanc, “You know very well how your mother passed away. Whether this illness is hereditary is uncertain, and to my knowledge, you’ve also taken that kind of dication…”

Atra Blanc’s lips turned slightly pale.

“Clyde is my son. In the future, he will inherit all the Sumrs Family assets and will father the next heir of the Sumrs family…”

Old Master Sumrs paused for a mont, his tone heavy: “Atra Blanc, I cannot allow you to bear the heir of the Sumrs family. If you truly love him and are willing to sacrifice for him, the greatest concession I can make is to let you have a place in the Sumrs family. But Clyde’s future wife must be soone else.”

Atra Blanc’s eyes quickly turned red. She bit her lower lip tightly, using great strength to hold back her tears.

“Can you… give so ti to think about it?” she said.

“Alright, take your ti to consider,” Old Master Sumrs nodded, “Regardless of the decision you co to, I can promise you now that my family will never treat you unfairly.”

Atra Blanc lowered her head and softly replied, “Thank you…”

Either beco Clyde Sumrs’s affair partner and stay in the Sumrs family without status;

Or leave before Clyde Sumrs marries, ending any further entanglents.
