Old Master Sumrs was busy preparing for his son’s trip abroad, and as Atra Blanc was his personal caregiver, she naturally found out.
"Are you really going abroad?" She privately found Clyde Sumrs to ask about it.
Clyde Sumrs gave her an askew glance, "Can’t bear to see go?"
"Who can’t bear to see you go..." Atra Blanc turned her face away.
After a mont, she couldn’t help but ask him again, "Once you go abroad... when will you be back?"
Clyde Sumrs didn’t reply, just looked at her and smiled.
Atra Blanc felt uneasy because of his expression and, blushing, said, "Why are you smiling when asked when you’ll be back... Forget it if you won’t say."
"I’m smiling because I’m happy," Clyde Sumrs said cheerfully, "I’m happy because soone can’t bear to see go."
Atra Blanc bit her lip and turned to leave, "Not a serious word, I’m not talking to you anymore..."
"Hey, don’t go." Clyde Sumrs held her back, smiling, "Ever played Jungle Chess?"
Atra Blanc blinked, "What’s up with Jungle Chess?"
"The elephant can eat the tiger, the tiger eats the cat, the cat eats the mouse, and the mouse can eat the elephant." Clyde Sumrs’ lips curled high, "Don’t worry, I can’t bear to leave you either."
Atra Blanc was completely baffled by what she heard.
But a few days later, she finally understood who the mouse Clyde Sumrs referred to was —
Mrs. Sumrs returned, full of excitent from her long stay out of town.
The story was that she was often away due to filming, which was a respectable excuse, but in fact, Old Master Sumrs and Mrs. Sumrs had been living separately for many years.
They hadn’t divorced because Old Master Sumrs cherished his son’s reputation. Divorce was a big deal in these tis and would attract criticism, and the children’s standing in society would unfairly suffer due to the parents’ separation.
Old Master Sumrs quelled the rumors of Mrs. Sumrs’ romantic escapades, keeping her rely as a nominal wife, all for the sake of his beloved son’s reputation.
This was the first ti Atra Blanc t Mrs. Sumrs.
Mrs. Sumrs, nad Janelle Roberts, was in her mid-thirties, well-maintained, appearing young and beautiful, dressed exquisitely and stylishly.
It was said her real na was Hazel Roberts, which she found too plain when entering the entertainnt industry, so she changed it. The na change indeed swung her fortunes; her singing and acting gained fa for a few years before she retired after marrying Old Master Sumrs.
It still felt quite novel, as Atra Blanc had watched movies featuring Janelle Roberts when she was young.
Seeing the screen persona suddenly in front of her, she couldn’t resist glancing several tis.
But Janelle Roberts evidently didn’t have a favorable impression of her; entering the room, seeing a young and pretty girl beside Old Master Sumrs, her face imdiately turned cold.
"What’s this about sending Clyde abroad?" Janelle Roberts questioned bluntly.
Old Master Sumrs furrowed his brow, "How do you know?"
"Don’t worry about how I know, I just don’t agree!"
Janelle Roberts sat down, elegantly yet sowhat arrogantly crossing her legs, showing off the graceful lines of her calves from beneath her skirt, adorned with the trendiest glass stockings paired with stiletto high heels, exuding an overwhelming feminine allure.
"Don’t think I don’t know your intentions," she laughed coldly, her fair fingers with bright red nail polish, alluring and radiant, "Once abroad, he won’t easily return for three to five years, and then who would the family estate go to, who can say for sure?"
Old Master Sumrs was visibly angered, speaking in a deep voice, "I’m not dead yet!"
"Yes, you’re still in good health!" Janelle Roberts’ smile grew even more sardonic, "Even if Boss doesn’t get any inheritance, three to five years is enough ti for you to have another child! What is it now, finding revolting, planning to temporarily change an heir, and driving my son abroad?!"
"You’re simply unreasonable!" Old Master Sumrs looked at her with utmost annoyance, "Sending Clyde abroad is entirely for his benefit! So many want to go abroad now and can’t! Either lacking the connections or the funds, Clyde has this chance and should seize it well!"
"Dostic universities are just as good; why must it be abroad?!" Janelle Roberts said coldly, "Dare to send my son abroad, don’t bla for making you lose face then!"
