Old Master Sumrs was furious, raising his hand and about to strike him, but as he held it high, he couldn’t bring himself to hit this face so similar to his own younger days.

At the age of fifteen or sixteen, bold and reckless, rebellious and extre, ignoring the rule-filled world crafted by adults, growing up in it with obstinacy, stumbling all the way.

Would a slap ta him?

No, it wouldn’t.

Apart from making him more stubborn in his choices, it’s of no use.

Old Master Sumrs lowered his hand, his heart mixed with feelings; what he once admired most about him—this defiance—is now what troubles him the most.

He sat down powerlessly, and said in a deep voice, "Jasmine Blanc from the Blanc Family just got married not long ago. Do you know where she got married?"

Clyde Sumrs frowned: "I only know she married out of town."

"No one knows because it’s disgraceful," Old Master Sumrs said. "At the end of last year, Mr. Ken from NewMart Departnt Store connected the Blanc Family, introducing Jasmine Blanc to a shipping company boss as his mistress. It’s sothing not to be seen in the light of day, so they claid she married far away."

Clyde Sumrs couldn’t understand, "What’s that got to do with Atra Blanc?"

"A man of wealth and status wouldn’t go after an eighteen-year-old girl, so why would he fancy a thirty-eight-year-old Jasmine Blanc?" Old Master Sumrs snorted coldly, scornfully, "The won of the Blanc Family are all nourished with drugs. I’ve heard that even if they live to be fifty or sixty years old, they remain as tight as virgins down there, making n relish it and yearn for more. The Blanc Family’s generations are worse than the last, and now they don’t even care about appearances, using their sisters and daughters to gamble for a future!"

Clyde’s face turned slightly pale, his expression frozen.

Old Master Sumrs looked at him, "Do you understand now? If soone took a woman from the Blanc Family as a mistress, people would think it’s a splendid thing, a blessing with beauty, but have you seen anyone take them as a proper wife? That would be laughed at! If you truly marry Atra Blanc, where would I put my old face?!"

Clyde’s mind was a bit confused, he murmured, "What you’re saying, there’s no evidence... Besides, Atra’s cousin got married a long ti ago..."

"That’s because she married out of town! Outsiders don’t know about these dirty secrets! Anyone who knows would dare to marry them?!"

Old Master Sumrs looked at him, frustrated with his inability to et expectations, "Even if you don’t care about reputation, don’t care about the Sumrs Family becoming a topic of gossip, what about the future? What to do then? A woman raised on drugs—will the children she bears have problems? All dicine has toxicity, even three points! Such a simple truth, you must understand it!"

Clyde hadn’t considered the matter of children, he himself was still a child, just hoping to live happily with Atra day and night. Procreating was too distant for him.

At this mont, being pointed out by Old Master Sumrs, he only felt his head buzzing, trying to sort out a few thoughts, but they were all in pieces.

He didn’t know when his father left, and sat alone in the study until after midnight. The housekeeper Uncle Jones personally brought chicken shreds porridge, placing it beside him, urging, "Young master, regardless of the matter, don’t harm your body. You haven’t eaten anything tonight, have so porridge."

Clyde ca back to his senses, glanced at the bowl of porridge, nodded, "Thank you, Uncle Jones."

"The master held a banquet today all to pave the way for you, to introduce you to more peers, which will always provide more support in the future... Young master, no matter what the master says or does, it’s surely for your own good. Even if you don’t accept the goodwill, don’t let the master’s heart grow cold."

Clyde listened, said in a low voice, "I understand, I’m just not interested in those girls, they seem dull."

Uncle Jones smiled, "When the master was your age, he was just like you, didn’t like the fiancée arranged by the family, preferred the beautiful ones who could sing and dance. Look, in the end, didn’t he get what he wished for?"
