Chapter 1385: Chapter 1385 Emotional Intensification
Clyde Sumrs is sincerely pursuing Atra Blanc.
As soon as school is over, he rushes ho, changes clothes, and heads to the hospital without fail, enjoying every mont.
Their relationship is gradually warming up. Although Atra shyly doesn’t clearly indicate her feelings, when friends and colleagues tease her about having a young boyfriend, she no longer vehently denies it, rather showing a hint of acknowledgnt.
Clyde made a jar of blueberry jam and couldn’t wait for it to fernt properly before he sent it to Atra.
Atra, in turn, gave him a small box of pear candy, made with pears and sugar, along with several different herbal dicine materials to help alleviate cough.
Every day, after work, she takes a long detour to go for walks along the riverbank with Clyde, enjoying the breeze.
Occasionally, they visit Grandma Lewis’s backyard to feed the cat. The white cat is getting fatter and even though it’s not Pinky, Atra still feels comforted.
On holidays, Clyde spends money to buy out Spotlight’s entire day, prepares a private room, and waits to watch movies with Atra.
Sotis he’ll tease her by deliberately putting on the wrong adult film tape, angering Atra so much that she playfully punches him with her small fists.
Sotis she cries her heart out, being particularly sensitive to emotional scenes; as he feels her pain, worry, and heartbreak, he also admires her thinking: Even crying, she looks so beautiful. She’s truly my woman.
These days are blissfully leisurely, tangy and sweet, so flavorful, each day sparkling with brilliance, like having diamonds set into them.
Old Master Sumrs actually doesn’t approve of his son getting involved in romantic entanglents too early. After receiving Clyde’s top-ranked school report at the end of June, he ultimately swallowed back his words of advice.
Yet, this sumr wasn’t easy.
Atra Blanc’s mother passed away.
Alzheir’s disease generally doesn’t directly affect lifespan, but when it progresses to the late stages, cognitive functions deteriorate almost to zero, immunity declines continuously, and she eventually succumbed to various complications.
Since she had been ill for a long ti, when death ca, it didn’t feel difficult to accept; instead, there was a sense of relief.
Relief for the deceased and relief for others.
Sadness and pain still persist. At night, after the lights are out, faint sounds of crying emanate from Atra’s room.
Clyde stands outside the courtyard wall near her window, staying most of the night, not returning ho until he no longer hears the cries.
In his brief fifteen years of life, he could not yet comprehend the weight of parting and loss.
In October, Atra’s aunt was married off far away.
All the way to the train station to see her off, the train whistled away, leaving Atra standing on the platform crying like an abandoned child.
The two won who had always provided her with care and companionship had finally… completely abandoned her.
…
On a night filled with clinking glasses, the Sumrs Residence is brilliantly lit.
Old Master Sumrs enthusiastically hosts a cocktail party at ho, inviting most of Clearwater City’s notable figures, especially those with children. Around fifteen or sixteen-years-old, these young boys and girls gathered together, emanating youthful vigor that fills the room with energy.
Clyde Sumrs is the most conspicuous among them, standing tall, with sharp eyes, possessing a quiet, deep calmness and poise well beyond his years.
“Mr. Sumrs is wonderful at raising his child; I’ve heard the young master’s school performance is always at the top.” soone praised.
Old Master Sumrs chuckled, “He has so cleverness, but he’s still far from being a finished product. Currently, the dostic educational resources are sowhat lacking, so my plan is to send him to the United Kingdom for further study once he turns sixteen.”
“Mr. Vincent’s two daughters are also going to the United Kingdom next year; they can go together, keep each other company.”
“Is that so? That would be perfect.” Old Master Sumrs nodded with a smile.
Clyde Sumrs isn’t foolish; today’s banquet is obviously targeted at him.
He privately approached Old Master Sumrs to talk, “Dad, what’s with all this today? I’m almost making things official on my end, and here you are stirring things up unnecessarily?”
