Chapter 1366: Chapter 1366: Can Look but Can’t Touch, No Fun

After school, Clyde Sumrs picked up his bag, ready to head ho, when Blondie and Big Head caught up from either side, putting their arms around his shoulders, insisting he join them at the video arcade.

In those days, computers weren’t widespread yet. Outside cinemas, they sold sodas for 0.03 dollars a bottle, and the boys’ favorite pastis were video arcades, pool halls, and the widespread video parlors.

Clyde Sumrs asked them, “A new film?”

Blondie looked around, then whispered mysteriously, “‘Call Girl 1988′, it’s absolutely explosive, and only Spotlight has the tape right now.”

Clyde Sumrs laughed. “This type again? Don’t you two ever get tired of watching?”

“Clyde, this ti it’s different!” Big Head said excitedly, “There’s Maggie Cheung!”

“Yeah, and Petrina too!”

“And Yu Sin Man!”

“And Carrie Ng!”

“Petrina is so gorgeous!” Blondie said in a fake Hong Kong accent.

The two of them kept going on, as if Clyde not going would an he had no taste.

Clyde Sumrs mocked them, “Enough is enough, guys, just watching an adult film and you’re acting like star chasers. Where’s your dignity? Pick it up.”

Despite the mocking, he ended up going along, out of camaraderie and just to have so fun to kill ti.

At the video arcade, sure enough, they saw a poster for “Call Girl 1988” hanging at the door. The fat, slightly bald boss had set up a stall outside, selling cigarettes, sodas, lon seeds, and gum.

Blondie grinned as he went up and greeted, “Uncle Warren, you look so full of energy today, and slimr too.”

The boss lazily glanced at him, his wandering eyes swept over Big Head and Clyde behind, and he said expressionlessly, “Five cents a show, new films cost ten cents, three cents for an all-nighter. If you want a Private Room, it’s an extra six cents, cos with soda and lon seeds.”

“Uncle, you watched grow up, you’re like my real uncle, give us a discount…”

The bargaining took a while to settle, so Clyde Sumrs walked over to the side of the road, bored, leaning against a utility pole plastered with notices, watching the pedestrians co and go.

After about two or three minutes, a graceful figure caught his attention.

It was a young girl in a white dress, looking about seventeen or eighteen, holding a docile white cat in her arms.

The girl was silently shedding tears, her tearful eyes clear and bright, her skin flawlessly fair, and her lips were a tender red, making her extrely pretty.

She was as elegant and pure as the Little Dragon Girl, but not cold and aloof. With glittering tears hanging on her lashes, she was adorably pitiful, fitting perfectly into every aspect of Clyde Sumrs’ fantasy.

People often say that when you fall in love at first sight, it feels like ti freezes at that mont.

Clyde Sumrs didn’t feel ti freeze, but he distinctly felt ti slow down, abnormally slow, as though everything around him turned into slow motion. The only thing in his eyes was that person, every move, every smile, amplified a thousand tis over.

And the vague image in his mind beca clear and concrete at that mont.

“Clyde, let’s go in!” Blondie ca over and tugged at him, “What’s up? I’ve been calling you with no response.”

Clyde Sumrs snapped back and had not completely regained his composure, “What?”

“What do you an, ‘what?’ We’re going in to watch the movie. I just finished bargaining, let’s go, let’s go.” Blondie reached out to pull him, but couldn’t move him.

Clyde Sumrs turned back to look, but among the hustle and bustle of the street, he couldn’t see that pretty girl anymore.

“Did you see her just now?” he asked.

Blondie was confused. “See what?”

“A girl, in a white dress, holding a white cat,” Clyde Sumrs gazed at the pedestrians, deeply furrowing his eyebrows.

“What white dress and white cat? Dude, are you daydreaming?” Blondie teased, emphasizing the word “daydream” with a mischievous tone, but before he finished speaking, Clyde Sumrs was already striding quickly away!

“…Hey? Clyde?! Hey! Clyde Sumrs, you’re not watching Maggie Cheung?!”

Clyde Sumrs, walking away, waved his hand impatiently, “You can watch but can’t touch, no fun.”
