Jane McCain and Allen Rivera were stuck on the highway, waiting for about an hour before soone from the Rivera Family ca to pick them up.

She followed Allen into his third brother’s car, while soone else took care of Allen’s car.
On the road, the two brothers occasionally chatted, giving off a sense of calm. It wasn’t an awkward calm, but rather a relaxed one, like going ho and casually chatting with familiar family mbers, with a warm intimacy in the mundane conversation.
Honestly, Jane felt a bit excited inside, even though nothing was happening.
But thinking she might see a different side of Allen made every little detail before her seem aningful.
While Allen was chatting with his third brother, Jane’s phone screen lit up many tis.
It was ssages from the group chat with her girlfriends.
She was about to et her future in-laws, such a major event, of course, she had to share with her girlfriends.
First, to relieve her nerves, and second, to seek their advice and opinions.
However, the second point was obviously unrealistic.
Purple Sumrs had no in-laws, only a simpleminded mom; Zara Jason had no in-laws, only a nonchalant uncle.
Jane held her phone, her fingers tapping away at the ssages.
Allen glanced over at her, and Jane, noticing, quickly covered her phone in embarrassnt, "You can’t look."
"I already saw it," Allen laughed, "they’re asking if you’re scared of joining the dragon’s den and tiger’s lair."
Jane blushed slightly.
Describing soone else’s family as a dragon’s den and tiger’s lair is sowhat impolite, but it was just a joke, mainly to describe her nervous anticipation.
Allen put his arm around her shoulder and pointed ahead, "See that mountain over there?"
Ahead on the road, there were majestic, snow-capped mountains in the distance.
Allen whispered in her ear, "Soon I’ll sell you into the mountains, once you’re in my dragon’s den and tiger’s lair, there’s no escaping."
His warm breath lightly brushed against her ear, making Jane feel her face and ears heat up.
This feeling... how should she describe it...
She looked up at Allen, reached out, and poked the corner of his mouth where a teasing smile lingered, seemingly sensing his current joy.
Back at ho, Allen seed a bit more playful.

They arrived at the hot spring resort at around half past seven.
Winter days end early, and it was already dark by now. However, the resort was brightly lit, with a series of classically styled buildings, and a corridor lined with lanterns wound up the mountain road, illuminating the surrounding gardens.
No wonder it’s called Orchid Palace; it indeed resembles an ancient royal palace.
It’s just a pity it’s so dark now; the scenery would surely be prettier in daylight, especially with the snow.
Jane gazed thoughtfully at the scenery outside the car window when the car ca to a steady stop. She and Allen got out at the road, while Ronan Rivera drove the car to park it.
The place was vast, with all old-style buildings, no modern prominent signboards, making it hard to tell what each building’s purpose was.
Jane looked around, slightly confused, "Where’s your house?"
Allen said, "All of this is ours."
Jane was speechless, quietly complaining, "You’re brushing off; you know what I an."
Allen was silent for a while, then leaned down slightly, saying softly, "I know you ant my family, but I don’t know where they all are, there are too many houses."
