“Enough, stop talking nonsense.” Zara Jason touched Jane McCain’s hand, which was icy cold. Feeling both heartbroken and angry, her face turned grim as she ushered Jane into the car.
The car’s heater was on, warm and safe, like a temporary harbor providing her shelter.
Bitterness rose up, she wanted to cry again, but her eyes were dry, unable to shed another tear.
Ryan Wesley drove carefully, glancing at the rearview mirror, “It’s not that I an to pry… but I need to know where to go, otherwise I don’t know which way to drive.”
Zara Jason thought for a mont, asked Jane McCain, “Stay at my place for a few days?”

There was no one ho at Jane McCain’s place.
Ruby Spencer had gone abroad, and the housekeeping lady only appeared in the morning and evening.
