Chapter 1278: Chapter 1278
Jane McCain is in love.
To be precise, she’s passionately in love.
In the mundane world, once a man and a woman hold hands and kiss, their relationship progresses rapidly.
She really hadn’t expected Allen Rivera to kiss her.
She always thought Allen would be the type to follow steps thodically.
But Allen kissed her, and on the way back, he kissed her several more tis intermittently.
Speaking of which, she hadn’t expected Allen to like her either.
She thought Allen would prefer a highly educated woman; even if not a Ph.D., at least soone like Zara Jason, who understands music, chess, calligraphy, and painting.
… But forget it, Zara Jason has beco unrecognizable in the past year or two.
Jane McCain sighed softly in her heart.
…
Although Allen Rivera’s manners occasionally surprised Jane McCain, his overall approach to the relationship was indeed thodical.
Dinner together every night, a planned date every weekend, and if work got too busy on any given day, he would make ti to et the next day.
Sending good morning texts early, good night texts before bed, and besides that, no extra chatting or call records.
To Allen Rivera, a phone was just a pure communication tool.
Jane McCain was very satisfied with the current situation, their synchronized life adaptation was also very smooth, and she even felt if things continued this way, she might get married faster than Zara Jason?
However, seldom does everything go smoothly in this world.
That day, as usual, Jane McCain carefully picked out and bought many ingredients according to the recipe, then with the help of the cooking skills of the family’s chef, she got a heartfelt bento box filled with delicious and aesthetically pleasing food.
She brought the bento to Allen Rivera, who took just a couple of bites before being called away for so urgent matter in another departnt.
Jane McCain sat at his desk playing with her phone, went to the restroom in the anti, and when she returned, she found a dead cockroach in the lunch box.
It was extrely disgusting.
Jane McCain stood in front of the desk, staring at the cockroach for a long ti, then glanced around at the few people nearby.
The four assistants were at their respective positions working; everything seed so natural, so normal.
But Jane McCain was convinced that the cockroach was put into the lunch box by soone, not crawling in on its own.
It was impossible to determine who was so wicked at the mont.
Later, Jane McCain silently threw away all the food in the lunch box.
When Allen Rivera returned to the office, Jane McCain just casually said, “A bug crawled in.”
She did not want to burden Allen with this during his work, nor did she want to arbitrarily accuse soone without evidence.
Yet the matter was truly upsetting, making her feel uneasy inside.
Jane McCain told Zara Jason about this incident.
“Do you suspect Juliet Stewart?” Zara Jason asked, “You ntioned before that the female assistant might have a crush on Allen and doesn’t like you, so she screwed you over?”
“I’m not sure,” Jane McCain sighed slightly, “To , they all seem suspicious. The other female assistant, Fiona Lake, has a strong dislike for Juliet Stewart, maybe she intentionally stirred things up.”
Zara Jason seed skeptical, “Using this thod, what kind of provocation can it achieve?”
Jane McCain furrowed her brow in thought, “True… think about it, it’s winter now, yet there was a big cockroach. This kind of behavior doesn’t seem like sothing a woman would do. Could it be one of the two male assistants?”
Zara Jason couldn’t help but laugh, “Could be, male comrades are everywhere these days, you better be careful.”
“None of this really interferes with my love life,” Jane McCain said worriedly, “What I fear most is another situation.”
“What situation?”
“All four of them might conspire against together.”
Zara Jason froze, then gathered herself and seriously said, “If that’s the case, it would prove Allen Rivera is a fool.”
