Chapter 1180: Chapter 1180: Run Away_1
Purple Sumrs strolled through the house from the inside out.
The house had two floors: the first floor was for living; the second floor was an attic, cluttered with various items and several mahjong tables.
Perhaps the previous residents used the attic as a mahjong room, but now it was abandoned, covered in a thick layer of dust.
Purple Sumrs did not find a suitable exit for escape, nor did she find any weapons to use against those two, not a knife, or a gun, not even a stick.
She felt that Nathaniel’s room must have a gun, but his room was locked, inaccessible, and the kitchen knives were also locked in a cupboard when not in use.
Purple Sumrs leaned against the window, gazing through the glass at the outside.
The trees were bare in winter, their branches stretching out thin and stark, and beneath them lay unevenly spaced houses where she could faintly hear dogs barking.
…Being so far away, even if she scread for help here, it would be no use, right?
Such a foolish thought.
Maybe it was being forced into a corner that made her think over such foolish thoughts again and again.
“Want to get out?” Nathaniel had co up to her side at so point.
Following Purple Sumrs’ gaze out the desolate window, he said indifferently, “You shouldn’t be exposed to the wind during puerperium, so rest inside the house for now. Once you’re through with the puerperium, I’ll let you go out for a walk.”
Look at that, such considerate and gentle words.
Purple Sumrs turned to look at him, “Nathaniel, why are you so twisted?”
Nathaniel’s expression briefly stiffened before he smiled faintly, a dark and cold smile, “I’m twisted? Heh… How about compared to Alexander Sumrs? Maybe I should be like him and find a hypnotist to make you dependent on , to make you willingly spread your legs in bed and serve every day—
How about that? Twisted enough? You should be thankful that I haven’t done that, and I disdain to do so.”
Purple Sumrs’ face turned ugly, “You hate him, so you’re taking revenge on ?”
“Shouldn’t I hate?” Nathaniel laughed, “He ruined my life. I want him to suffer for a lifeti. That’s fair. Aren’t you always so fond of the word ‘fair’?”
Emotions churned in Purple Sumrs’ chest, and she didn’t want to rage futilely at him. She took a deep breath and replied with tension, “You’ve gone mad.”
Nathaniel smiled indifferently, “Perhaps.”
Purple Sumrs went back to her room to rest.
At five o’clock, Nathaniel brought two bowls of red bean soup.
This wasn’t dinner, but a dessert before dinner, and Cherry also had a share.
Cherry brought out a bunch of jars from the drawer, filled with peanut chocolate candies, rock candy, chocolate beans, raisins, dried cranberries, and so on, eagerly laid out in front of Purple Sumrs.
Children like to add all sorts of sugars and dried fruits into their sweets.
Purple Sumrs ignored her kind gesture, finished the bowl of red bean soup with a cold face, leaving Cherry a bit disheartened. However, when Cherry saw Nathaniel, her spirits lifted once more.
Then ca dinner.
Purple Sumrs obediently finished it.
She needed to recover quickly, to be in good physical and ntal shape, to have a better chance of escaping.
Without revealing anything, Purple Sumrs settled down here calmly.
The life here was very regular; Nathaniel prepared als punctually every day, and there was never a lack of snacks and pastries. With an abundance of food at ho, they barely stepped foot outside.
Thus, Purple Sumrs recovered quickly.
With enough energy, she began to closely observe the people around her, or perhaps the ghosts around her.
Nathaniel was silent and reserved, busy preparing food in the kitchen, smoking in the yard, or locked in his room. Unless necessary, he didn’t interact with Purple Sumrs.
Cherry, however, was much livelier. No matter how cold Purple Sumrs was, Cherry would approach her the next day without holding grudges, enthusiastically talking to her and sharing her candy and toys, a true child’s temperant.
And as a child, she would sotis be willful.
Cherry and Nathaniel often argued.
