Chapter 1164: Chapter 1164: Plague God Nathaniel Sumrs_1

The streets were bustling with activity as pedestrians hurried by.

A man dressed in black strode down the street, his steps neither rushed nor sluggish, his expression detached.

He seed more susceptible to the cold than most; although the temperature wasn’t particularly low, he was already wearing a black turtleneck and a dark, wide trench coat. The long coat made his figure appear slender and elongated, exuding a sense of stark indifference.

Such an aloof man always provoked a swirl of curiosity. A few young won on the sidewalk glanced over discreetly, debating whether to approach him for his contact details.

Just then, a little girl clutching snacks dashed out of the convenience store and ran to keep up with the man’s pace.

The won watching hidden in the shadows deflated with disappointnt: So he has a child already…

Cherry stuffed a big handful of lollipops into her pocket, then handed Nathaniel the cigarettes, “The smokes are yours, and the candy’s mine.”

Nathaniel took the cigarettes.

Cherry followed at his side, unwrapping a lollipop and popping it into her mouth. She asked in a muffled voice, “Where to next?”

Nathaniel looked down at her, “Does it still hurt?”

“It hurts.” She nodded, lifting her knee, “It’s almost killing .”

She’d jumped out of the car before it had stopped and landed hard, leaving half her leg swollen.

Cherry added, “My head hurts too.”

Nathaniel frowned slightly, “Your head hurts too?”

He reached out and touched her forehead; her skin was burning hot.

“You have a fever,” Nathaniel sighed, “It must be because of the rain.”

She didn’t care much—if her body was breaking, then let it break. After all, she could always get another one.

Nathaniel surveyed the area; the street signs were dazzling with an array of services. Among them was an inconspicuous private clinic, and he led Cherry there.

Once at the clinic, they cleaned the wound, applied dication, and wrapped it up, then the doctor prescribed a box of antipyretics.

“Three tis a day, mix with water.” The doctor instructed, “If the kid finds it hard to swallow, you can add so rock candy.”

Nathaniel didn’t take the box of dicine, “Use an injection, we’re in a hurry.”

“Her fever isn’t too severe, pills will do…”

The doctor didn’t finish his sentence before Nathaniel took out several banknotes and laid them on the desk, saying indifferently, “We’re in a hurry. She needs to bring the fever down quickly.”

The doctor couldn’t persist any longer, took the money, and prepared to get the dicine for the injection.

Just as he stood up, he heard the client in front of him say, “Give so standard dical equipnt as well, and the dications in that cabinet, I need them too.”

“That’s not possible, this is a place for treating patients, not a drug store.” The doctor was sowhat annoyed, “Besides, those dications are prescription-only, and only a licensed physician is permitted to use them. I can’t sell them to you.”

Nathaniel pulled out a thick stack of banknotes from the black tote bag and placed it on the table.

The doctor’s eyes widened in astonishnt.

Nathaniel then placed another stack on the table.

Fine beads of sweat ford on the doctor’s forehead; he looked from the money to the silent Nathaniel, his mind struggling to comprehend the situation.

When Nathaniel took out a third stack, the doctor beca utterly flustered!

The doctor’s throat was dry as he stared at the ominous black tote bag, wondering if a fourth stack of banknotes would co out.

Indeed, Nathaniel reached in again.

Only this ti, what he brought out wasn’t money, but a pistol gleaming with a tallic sheen.

The doctor gasped sharply.

“Which do you choose?” Nathaniel laid the pistol in front of him and asked calmly.

“Money… money, I’ll take the money!” The doctor stared at the gun on the table, his Adam’s apple bobbing, “Please… please don’t kill !”

“Right, I won’t kill you,” Nathaniel said expressionlessly as he took back the gun, “Go give her the injection.”

The doctor didn’t dare delay, wanting nothing more than to get rid of this plague spirit quickly.

Cherry saw the glistening long needle, smiled wickedly, and took hold of the doctor’s hand, “You won’t call the police, will you?”

The doctor, pale-faced, shook his head.

“I saw everything.” Cherry gripped his hand tighter, her face bright with a smile, “Your wife is quite pretty, just a bit plump. Is your kid two years old yet? You certainly have a lot of toys at ho… Mmm, I like the teddy bear lamp, and the wallpaper’s nice too, but those yellow curtains are just hideous…”
