Chapter 1146: Chapter 1146: Not Small Anymore_1

Purple Sumrs said, “Your Honor, I believe that the significance of a public hearing for this case far exceeds the case itself, and I hope you can agree to it.”

The judge looked at her deeply and nodded slightly, “All right, since you insist, but I won’t give you too much ti, I will permit the summoning of only one witness at most.”

Purple Sumrs nodded, “Thank you, Your Honor.”

Returning to the courtroom, the judge announced that the court session for the trial would be held next week, and the jury was to be assembled starting imdiately.

Purple Sumrs’s colleagues quickly learned of this news, and they were all surprised, but after the surprise, they felt happy for Purple Sumrs.

Most of them had chosen to beco prosecutors because they were driven by justice and ideals; the sight of evil going unpunished troubled them sowhat.

“It would be great if we could really get him imprisoned. People who abuse animals deserve severe punishnt!”

“Most prisoners have a history of abusing animals in their early years, especially those serial killers involved in multiple murder cases; nearly every one of them started with abusing animals.”

“…But can we really put him in prison?”

Everyone fell silent by unspoken agreent.

The situation was clearly not optimistic, with the biggest obstacle being the lack of relevant legal support.

No matter how indignant one felt, it was impossible to concoct a new law specifically for this case out of thin air.

Then soone said, “Regardless, the fact that the judge didn’t reject it ans there’s a chance.”

That statent provided so encouragent, and the atmosphere lightened slightly.

Soone joked half-heartedly, “The judge is still quite considerate, after all, the appellant is Purple Sumrs Simonson.”

The joke was of low taste, hinting at a critique of elitism, and having said it, the speaker also realized it and looked embarrassed.

Purple Sumrs didn’t mind and nodded with a smile, “Yes, I am the president’s daughter, after all. It’s my first trial during my internship, and the judge wouldn’t want to dampen my enthusiasm.”

Everyone laughed good-naturedly.

After work, Purple Sumrs headed ho with her laptop and a stack of materials.

Atra Blanc made porridge for her, so instead of going upstairs, she simply sat on the living room couch, eating the porridge while tinkering with her laptop.

She had taken a picture of the old lady’s photo with her phone, did an online search for similar images, and imdiately got results.

The photo had been widely shared on Twitter, and Purple Sumrs didn’t have to exert much effort to find the source: a personal hopage of a photography major college student.

Scrolling down, she saw more photos of the old lady and the dog; clearly, the college student had taken more than one photo. A quick glance revealed about a dozen photos.

Purple Sumrs downloaded each photo, saved them in a bundle, and then forwarded both the photos and the webpage link to Cedric Spencer.

“Print these pictures for , magazine size will do. Then look up the user’s identity, and arrange a eting; I want to et with her,” she instructed calmly. Atra Blanc ca over with a small bowl of peeled pistachios, and Purple Sumrs hung up the phone, reaching for the pistachios to eat.

Atra Blanc sighed and said, “You had children too early. Look, you’re busy even though you’re pregnant. Why didn’t you wait until after you graduated to have children?”

Before Purple Sumrs could respond, Atra Blanc continued to talk to herself, “I should have advised you better when you got married. Strange… what was I doing at that ti? …”

Purple Sumrs’s heart skipped a beat, and her voice rose involuntarily, “It’s not too early!”

Atra Blanc looked at her in astonishnt, puzzled.

“It’s not too early…” Purple Sumrs pursed her lips and changed the subject, “Mom, look… my brother is almost thirty.”

Alexander Sumrs would be turning twenty-eight in a month; indeed, he was not young anymore.

Purple Sumrs thought to herself; if she hadn’t been reborn… she would have been… twenty-nine…

Uh…

Uh…

Well… that’s not young.

Thinking that she was at such an advanced age yet still acting spoiled around Atra Blanc all the ti was quite… lodramatic…

Purple Sumrs sighed, shook her head, and refocused on the case.
