Chapter 1085: Chapter 1085: Hard to Fight_1

Alexander Sumrs on the playground was drenched in sweat; he simply took off his outerwear, revealing a dark tank top underneath and his muscular arms, which made him stand out as exceptionally tall and upright among the children.

The children ran past him, clamorously making their way toward the dining hall.

A little girl, about five or six years old, accidentally fell and lagged behind; Alexander smoothly picked her up and took the hand of another younger child, walking together towards the dining hall.

In the golden sunset, their silhouettes rged together, warm and touching, while Alexander’s features were blurred, indistinct. Sohow, Purple couldn’t help feeling that he appeared even more handso and resolute than usual, like a valiant hero standing with head held high.

Purple took out her phone and snapped a photo, thinking to herself, “So handso.”

While the children were eating, Purple and Alexander Sumrs left the orphanage.

On the way back, Purple showed the photo she took to Alexander, who nodded in approval, “Not a bad shot.”

He then sent it to Zack Wallace.

Purple was montarily stunned. “Why send it to him?”

“Your dad said that actions speak louder than words, and that anonymous charity lacks sincerity in the public eye,” Alexander said lazily. “I had Zack post it on a news website.”

Purple was left speechless for a mont.

A mont that was so warm and beautiful beca sowhat tacky through his words.

However, the tacky Alexander was also endearing, and Purple couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile.

After sending the photo, Alexander handed the phone back to Purple. “I can accompany you to the orphanage, and the schoolwork isn’t too heavy right now. It’s just your classmate’s case left. What are you planning to do with it?”

Purple was taken aback. “What do I plan?”

Alexander frowned slightly, lifting his hand to Purple’s chin. “You don’t plan on handing it over to another lawyer? Purple, you’re carrying my child, and it’s not appropriate for you to be running around for other n every day.”

Purple laughed out loud and swatted his hand away. “It’s not so other man, it’s my classmate. The court hearing date is already set, and changing lawyers at the last minute would displease the judge.”

Having said this, she sighed softly. “Besides, Norton’s case is quite tricky… I don’t feel comfortable leaving it to soone else.”

Norton’s case hinged on the victim personally identifying him.

If the police can’t find any other suspects before the day of the court hearing, Purple’s only hope is to undermine the opposing testimony during cross-examination. Other than that, there’s nothing else she can do.

“Don’t worry, I won’t be running around.” Purple cradled Alexander’s face and kissed it, cooing softly to him, “I’m just going to court; it won’t tire out.”

Alexander’s brow furrowed slightly as he looked at her. “Purple, cases involving rape are hard to fight,” he said.

Purple fell silent for a mont.

She understood what Alexander ant.

Hard to fight did not refer to the technical difficulties or doubt that she would lose the case, but rather, he was worried about the potential damage to Purple’s reputation.

In court, Purple would inevitably have to question the victim, and in the process, unavoidably delve into the details of the cri.

When a victim finally musters the courage to stand in court and accuse the perpetrator, only to be interrogated, suppressed, and verbally tornted by the defense lawyer, it’s like reopening a wound that hasn’t yet healed, leaving it raw and bleeding.

This technique used by lawyers is undoubtedly a form of “secondary victimization” of the victim.

It is also an action that is frowned upon.

But if Purple avoids key issues or gives up questioning, it would be tantamount to surrendering the entire case.

How then, would Norton’s injustice be defended?

Purple sighed lightly: “I need to think of a strategy, if only I could find a character witness… that would make things easier.”
