The place Norton Young finally settled on was an orphanage as well.
It wasn’t large and was very far from the city center. It took two hours on the subway and another fifteen minutes of bike riding.
For a hefty person like Norton Young, the journey was quite strenuous.
He envied Purple Sumrs.
Recalling that she hadn’t been able to help him the previous few tis, Purple Sumrs asked if he wanted to go with her to the orphanage she had settled on, at least it wasn’t that far away, and it wouldn’t be too much of a hardship on the road.
Norton Young, with his simple nature, waved his hands with a chuckle, saying, “No need, they are short-staffed over there, and it’s good that I can go help out. Plus, I’ve already made the commitnt, I can’t go back on my word.”
“That’s true,” Purple Sumrs smiled, “then you have to persevere, it’s tough on the road.”
Norton Young, honest and earnest, wiped his sweat and said, “I’ll think of it as weight loss.”
Purple Sumrs was amused by him.
The days at school were as plain as water, and before long, March arrived.
The swallows returned to their nests, willow branches sprouted buds, and each day was warr than the last. Purple Sumrs’s birthday was also drawing near.
