Purple Sumrs didn’t know how to comfort him.
Promise him that next ti she would definitely take him to the hearing?
She couldn’t make such a promise. Her goal wasn’t to be a lawyer, so she wouldn’t intentionally take on cases. Most of the ti, it was just helping friends, so she couldn’t predict when she would be in court again.
This might actually be her last appearance as a defense attorney.
Purple Sumrs couldn’t make any promises to Norton.
Norton managed a bitter smile and said, “Did I put you in a difficult position…?”
“It’s nothing, it’s just that the timing isn’t right,” Purple Sumrs encouraged him, “Don’t worry, Norton, you’ll have opportunities in the future.”
Norton slowly nodded.

The next morning at ten, Purple Sumrs arrived at the courthouse.
She waited in the hallway for a while, finally catching sight of the small store’s boss hurrying over.
“The hearing’s about to start, let’s go in,” Purple Sumrs said.
But the boss burst into tears and told Purple Sumrs, “I can’t testify for that young lady!”
Purple Sumrs asked in surprise, “Why not?”
The boss sobbed and turned to leave, attracting the attention of many people nearby.
The hearing was about to begin, and the only witness was absent—how could the case proceed?
Purple Sumrs quickly stopped her, led her to the resting room, closed the door, and asked again, “What happened? You clearly agreed to testify before, so why have you changed your mind all of a sudden? You’re the only witness who can prove she wasn’t at the scene.”
The boss burst into tears and said, “That gambling addict husband of mine has bet away my store! I have to rush back to my hotown now to raise money, or I’ll lose my place to live!”
Looking up at Purple Sumrs, she explained, “Ms. Simonson, it’s not that I don’t want to help, it’s just that I really can’t make it in ti! If I can’t raise the money quickly, they’ll take my store away!”
Purple Sumrs looked at her with sympathy, “How much money did your husband lose?”
“2,700,” the boss said, tears streaming down her face. “He’s heartless! For just 2,700, he mortgaged my store away! But I don’t have that much cash on hand, and the savings in the bank have been squandered by him long ago… ”
“Don’t panic, I’ll lend it to you first,” Purple Sumrs said calmly.
“Ms. Simonson, you really are a good person! I’ll definitely pay you back as soon as possible!”
Purple Sumrs smiled faintly, “Sure.”
The boss’s expression stiffened, not expecting Purple Sumrs to actually ask for the money back. To such a wealthy person, what was 2,700? Why did she still insist on being repaid?
But it didn’t matter… after all, that money wouldn’t end up in her own pocket.
The boss adjusted her emotions and looked at Purple Sumrs with imnse gratitude, “I really can’t thank you enough… ”
“I don’t have that much cash on . Is a bank transfer alright?” Purple Sumrs lowered her head to operate her phone, “The transfer is done, check it.”
The phone emitted a pleasant notification sound.
The boss received a bank ssage, and her account balance increased by 2,700!
