Chapter 1018: Chapter 1018: Compassionate _1 Chapter 1018: Chapter 1018: Compassionate _1 Purple Sumrs knew the ins and outs of the situation and fell silent for a good while.
She had not anticipated that things would evolve to this extent.
At that ti, after she won the lawsuit, she returned to Clearwater and stopped paying attention to the matter. She also disregarded the tumult on the internet.
Because back then, Alexander Sumrs was missing, presud dead, she faced threats from Damian Howard, needed to be wary of Nathaniel Sumrs, and shortly after, Atra Blanc disappeared, Alexander Sumrs lost his mory; a series of accidents left her no ti to cope, so how could she possibly have cared about the aftermath of that case?
Even if she wanted to, could she have silenced everyone on the internet?
The final outco was this: from a lawsuit, Purple Sumrs gained fa and wealth, while Silas Jaxon fell into the lowest ebb of his life.
He was not killed by Purple Sumrs, yet he died because of her.
There are four great sorrows in life: to lose one’s mother in childhood, father in youth, spouse in middle age, and children in one’s later years.
——In childhood, the mother’s nurturing is most needed; in youth, one cannot do without the father’s guidance; in middle age, one supports the family hand in hand with their spouse; and in the latter years, one only hopes for the happiness and well-being of their offspring.
Having reached middle age, Victoria Morrison lost her husband, and it was impossible for her not to harbor hatred.
Especially whenever news about Purple Sumrs appeared on the internet or on television, this hatred would continue to fernt and intensify.
Purple Sumrs silently let out a sigh in her heart.
Alexander Sumrs said, “I can’t step in on this matter; it might be best to have a talk with Christopher Simonson. Let him speak to the dean about the situation. Victoria Morrison’s current state is clearly unsuited for continuing to teach.”
“Let it go…” Purple Sumrs, leaning on him, gently shook her head, “She has already apologized to ; let bygones be bygones.”
Alexander Sumrs didn’t speak, seeming to have no intention of pursuing the matter further.
This was sowhat unusual.
The devilish president turning into a Buddha?
Purple Sumrs propped herself up on her elbow and studied Alexander Sumrs’s face intently, “You wouldn’t take revenge on her behind the scenes, would you?”
Alexander Sumrs couldn’t help but laugh: “What kind of trouble could I give her?”
Purple Sumrs said earnestly, “Although Victoria Morrison is sharp-tongued and a bit cruel with her words, she hasn’t really caused much harm. We don’t need to be so petty. After all, she is a teacher, and being too harsh on her would not bode well for my reputation either.”
Alexander Sumrs stroked her head, “Yes, you’re right.”
But Purple Sumrs was taken aback and felt even more curious. Alexander Sumrs was actually letting Victoria Morrison off so easily – how uncharacteristic. Could it be that he had his monts of soft-heartedness, too?
Alexander Sumrs had indeed softened.
His subordinates were used to fighting and killing. If they were set on dealing with soone, the notion of ‘a light punishnt to prevent further mischief’ wasn’t considered. Usually, it required a bit of bloodshed.
Mr. Ghost Hayes had said that Alexander Sumrs had done too many things that wore down his moral integrity, and he had beco sowhat apprehensive about it.
Afterwarlearning about Silas Jaxon’s predicant and reflecting on Victoria Morrison being around the sa age as Atra Blanc, without a husband, children not by her side, all alone…
Alexander Sumrs felt a surge of compassion.
Now, his life was on a smooth path, having obtained everything he wanted, save for the uncertain whereabouts of Atra Blanc.
…
Purple Sumrs and Alexander Sumrs stayed in Clearwater City for two days, taking a flight back to Kingsley on Sunday.
Before leaving, Purple Sumrs held her crow and snake, finding it hard to part with them.
Alexander Sumrs said, “If you can’t bear to leave them, then bring them to Kingsley.”
Purple Sumrs shook her head.
Moving them around would be too cruel for the pets.
Especially Cleo, the python. Despite its size, it was actually much more delicate than the crow. Every ti it was introduced to a new environnt, there would be a long period when it refused to eat, and the dry climate of the north was really too harsh for Cleo.
“The servants only know how to feed it; they don’t walk it often.” Purple Sumrs circled Cleo’s thick waist and sighed, “It’s getting fatter…”
Alexander Sumrs replied, “Isn’t it set free in the house?”
“But after getting fat, it’s too lazy to move.”
“Then starve it for a few als.”
Purple Sumrs pursed her lips and hugged Cleo, huffing, “Heartless.”
After a mont of silence, Alexander Sumrs asked her, “Needs disciplining again?”
