Chapter 1003: Chapter 1003: Jane McCain’s Illness_1 Chapter 1003: Chapter 1003: Jane McCain’s Illness_1 To be fair, he was not close with Jane McCain.

He only knew her because of Purple Sumrs, and his impression of Jane was limited to that of a wealthy heiress with a cheerful and lively personality, nothing more.

Due to the case, their interactions inevitably increased, and so did his understanding of her.

Allen Rivera knew that Jane had a dog nad Max, knew she liked cool guys, knew she was extrely talented in design, having won nurous awards, had a particular fondness for jewelry design, and, despite her young age, already held a place in her mother’s design company.

Without this case, Jane’s life would have sailed smoothly.

Allen Rivera leaned back and closed his eyes.

If only…

If Jane were to be incarcerated, her vibrant life would be destroyed by his hands.

Suddenly, soone knocked on the door from outside, interrupting Allen Rivera’s thoughts.

Allen Rivera opened his eyes, “Co in.”

A young man entered, looking as if he’d encountered so good fortune, his face brimming with excitent.

“I ca to try my luck, and I didn’t expect you to be here! Why are you working overti on a Saturday?”

“I’ll leave after sitting for a bit,” Allen Rivera said. “Why are you here?”

“I found this!” The other person handed over the docunt in his hand, eyes shining with excitent, “I really didn’t expect this—she actually had a history of sleepwalking! With this, we can clearly explain why she knew the details of the cri but doesn’t rember killing anyone!”

Allen Rivera furrowed his brow, flipping through the docunts in his hand, which were a dical diagnosis report of Jane.

His colleague rattled on: “In 1981 in Arizona, United States, a person nad Steven stabbed his wife 26 tis while sleepwalking, in 1987 in Toronto, Canada, Kenneth drove 23 kiloters while sleepwalking and killed his mother-in-law, and in 1997, an engineer nad Scott stabbed his wife 44 tis while sleepwalking and drowned her in the swimming pool!

I’ve already found the doctor who treated her back then, ha! Now she has nothing to say! Even if she won’t admit it, it’s useless, the facts are right in front of us, it doesn’t matter which lawyer she hires!”

After speaking, he looked very pleased with himself.

This person was Ian Conner.

After Allen Rivera requested to recuse himself, the attorney general transferred Jane’s case to Ian Conner for investigation.

The catfish dismbernt case had been unsolved for three years and was considered a major case. Once resolved, it would garner attention on television dia, which was a rare opportunity for any prosecutor.

Previously, it was always Allen Rivera in the lilight. Ian Conner never expected such good fortune to co his way. He was thrilled and determined to crack the case!

After reading them, Allen Rivera handed back the docunts, patted his colleague on the shoulder, and said indifferently, “Good luck.”

“Definitely!” Ian Conner was beaming.

Allen Rivera didn’t say more, picked up his briefcase, and left the office.

Watching Allen Rivera’s retreating back, Ian Conner stroked his chin, thinking: Allen Rivera seems a bit… a bit dejected today?

Then he thought: Could he be jealous of ?

“Ah, this guy’s really petty. He’s been on TV so many tis, what’s wrong with having a turn?” Ian Conner chuckled to himself for a while, then left the office in high spirits with the docunts.

On Sunday, Allen Rivera t with Aria Jackson and Purple Sumrs again.

Purple Sumrs had classes on Monday and booked a flight back to Kingsley for Sunday evening. Before leaving, she reviewed the case with Aria Jackson and Allen Rivera.

Allen Rivera did not disclose the dical reports in possession of the prosecution.

He could help Jane as a friend after withdrawing from the case, but it was a serious dereliction of duty to use his power to reveal internal information to the defense lawyer.

Fortunately, Aria Jackson found a suspect nad Dion Benson, and the case finally had a breakthrough.

When Purple Sumrs and Aria Jackson discussed the case, they chatted like high school girls without end, while Allen Rivera was like the aloof top student in the class, sitting aside in silence.

Seeing him lost in thought, Purple Sumrs waved her hand in front of Allen Rivera, “If the case is solved this ti, how do you plan to thank Jane?”
