Sect Leader Qing frowned. "Go on, speak freely."
"There’s still no news from Harmonywood City. I’ve heard that the city gates have been locked, and neither outsiders nor the people inside can get in or out. If the lockdown continues, I’m afraid it will cause panic, which could lead to a big incident."
Sect Leader Qing paused, then smiled bitterly. "Sixth Elder always seems to give more trouble. If the father of the City Lord doesn’t step in soon, I’m afraid our Green Lotus Sect will have to get involved. Let’s hope nothing major happens in Harmonywood City."
"I’m afraid it’s already too late," a voice ca from outside the hall as Alisha Fan walked in.
Sect Leader Qing looked surprised. "Didn’t you just go there two days ago? How are you back so soon? What do you an it’s already too late?"
Alisha Fan sat down casually and said, "When Taejin Yun received the news, he was still upset about the Heavenly Dew Incense Tree incident. He didn’t believe a word I said and even chased away."
The Green Lotus Sect had tricked Hana Yun into revealing the location of the Heavenly Dew Incense Tree and stolen part of it. They intentionally left so clues for others to find, which eventually leaked, causing many powerful people to fight over the tree. The tree was damaged and left dying because Taejin Yun’s guards weren’t strong enough to protect it.
When Taejin Yun returned to Harmonywood City and learned what had happened, despite how much he usually spoiled Hana Yun, he nearly beat her half to death.
When the Green Lotus Sect requested to et him, Taejin Yun was still furious and refused to et them, ordering his n to chase them away.
For the sake of the Mystic Void Continent, Alisha Fan had no choice but to force his way in and explain the situation to Taejin Yun. Coincidentally, Taejin Yun’s subordinate, Jaewon Li, was present too.
All it would take was a simple test to see if Jaewon Li was a human or a devil, but Taejin Yun refused and even sent two Nascent Soul experts to ’escort’ Alisha Fan out. Left with no choice, Alisha Fan left.
He waited outside the city, and soon after, a battle broke out at the City Lord’s mansion.
The safety of Harmonywood City was at stake, as was Taejin Yun’s own safety. He pretended not to care, but as soon as Alisha Fan left, he imdiately began investigating Jaewon Li.
Jaewon Li, knowing what was coming, acted first and took Hana Yun hostage.
"And what happened next?" Sect Leader Qing asked, frowning.
"Taejin Yun, that old fool, suffered a huge loss. His daughter, Hana Yun, is dead. The devil soul that possessed Jaewon Li managed to escape, but the rest have been dealt with," Alisha Fan said mockingly.
"Taejin Yun swore to hunt down the devil. To stop it from escaping Harmonywood City, he locked the city gates, letting no one in or out. He doesn’t even care if it stirs up anger."
"If the lockdown continues, it will definitely cause public outrage." Sect Leader Qing sighed after a mont of thought. "The City Lord’s father will have to make an appearance soon."
"This matter has nothing to do with us, no need to worry about them," Alisha Fan said casually.
Sect Leader Qing shook his head. "Do you really think the devils went to all that trouble, setting up such an elaborate plan at Silent Echo Valley, just to start a war with the Mystic Void Continent? Especially at this ti?"
Alisha Fan sat up straight after hearing this. "Could it be because of the Path of All Immortals?"
Sect Leader Qing nodded. "That’s most likely the case. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have gone to such lengths. We cannot let the devils enter the Path of All Immortals. If they gather information from within, it will be disastrous for the Mystic Void Continent."
"I rember that cultivators possessed by devils have different cultivation thods compared to human cultivators. Won’t we know if they’re devils once the battle begins?" Alisha Fan asked.
Sect Leader Qing smiled. "Just because we can’t think of sothing doesn’t an others can’t. So things are beyond our imagination, but not beyond others’ abilities."
Alisha Fan shrugged. "Alright, my task is done. I guess I’m no longer needed?"
"Yes, go take care of your own matters," Sect Leader Qing replied.
A few days later, Amalia erged from seclusion. Her cultivation had stabilized, and now she was looking for an opportunity to break through. Without seeking out her master, she left Naless Peak and went straight to find Sect Leader Qing.
Her face was well-known on the main peak, and no one stopped her as she walked. However, people didn’t dare approach her either. Once she passed, there were quiet whispers about her identity.
The gatekeeper recognized her imdiately and went to inform the sect leader.
"Martial Aunt, how co you’re out of seclusion today? Renshu Chang said you were preparing to break through," Sect Leader Qing greeted her with a smile when she entered.
Amalia nodded slightly. "I ca to see you about that. I’d like to go to the Spiritual Cave for my breakthrough."
The Green Lotus Sect, being a major sect, naturally had a Spiritual Cave. In fact, Renshu Chang and the others had the opportunity to cultivate there at least once a year.
Their cultivation had grown so fast from their frequent missions and gains that they rarely needed to use the Spiritual Cave anymore, so it hadn’t been ntioned much. Sect Leader Qing didn’t imdiately agree and instead asked, "If I rember correctly, you only reached Golden Cote stage just a month ago. Are you ready to break through so soon?"
