At this point, there wasn’t much to hide.
Yuri was taken aback.
This answer wasn’t what she had expected.
Moreover, she didn’t believe that soone from a humble background would dismiss Harmonywood City so easily.
Yes, she had already noticed.
From the mont Hana Yun began making threats, these two had never shown a hint of panic.
This was not sothing that could be explained by re composure.
The confidence and poise that radiated from their very core could only co from having a powerful backing behind them.
"You just said you had a backing, didn’t you?" Sehyun Wang was getting confused.
"Of course, we have a backing. Against soone in the late Nascent Soul stage, with our current strength, we’re not able to handle that," Amalia replied.
Although they had once been able to leap across realms to kill enemies, that was back when their cultivation wasn’t very high.
There was still a gap between the Soul Formation stage and the Nascent Soul stage.
The higher the cultivation level, the harder it beca to challenge those above them.
Yuri suddenly had a mont of clarity. "Could it be that you’re disciples of a major sect?"
A powerful backing but humble origins—only the large sects that constantly recruited disciples could match their circumstances.
Hearing this, Sehyun Wang was ashad to realize that she felt a small sense of relief.
"Which sect are you from? Should I send a ssage to your sect and have them co pick you up from Skyward City?" Sehyun Wang quickly asked to cover her own thoughts.
"I’ll send a ssage to the sect now," Amalia said, taking out a ssaging amulet.
She would have preferred to use a jade transmission slip, but unfortunately, its range was limited to a hundred miles.
Amalia briefly explained their situation, being trapped in Skyward City, and then embedded a defensive array into the ssaging amulet.
The amulet flew out of Skyward City, heading in the direction of the Green Lotus Sect.
Yuri’s eyes flickered for a mont upon seeing this.
There was only one sect in that direction, and it was the largest sect on Mystic Void Continent.
Now, she was ninety-nine percent sure that these two were from the Green Lotus Sect.
In fact, once she realized they weren’t disciples of so prominent family, she already had a pretty good idea.
The closest sect to Skyward City was indeed the Green Lotus Sect.
At the sa ti, as the ssaging amulet flew out of the City Lord’s Mansion, Yuji, who was standing guard outside, noticed it.
Hana Yun had been worried that they might try to escape, so after she left, she had Yuji keep a close watch on the mansion.
Yuji had no choice but to release his spiritual sense, and upon detecting the ssaging amulet, he imdiately reported the matter to his mistress.
"A ssaging amulet?" Hana Yun was sitting in a teahouse when she heard Yuji’s report, and she couldn’t help but let out a cold laugh. "Looks like they’re trying to summon reinforcents."
"Miss, if they actually manage to bring reinforcents, I’m worried..." Yuji began to say.
"What are you worried about? That we won’t be able to defeat their reinforcents?" Hana Yun said lightly, as though she didn’t care at all.
"If they do manage to summon soone at the Soul Formation stage, their status is probably not ordinary. I’m afraid things could get quite troubleso," Yuji hesitated as he spoke.
"Troubleso?" Hana Yun sneered, her eyes gleaming with calculation. "The last thing I fear is trouble. It would be best if I could drag Sehyun Wang into this, and along with her, the entire Skyward City Lord’s Mansion."
Yuji’s heart stirred. "Could it be that Miss’s true purpose for this trip isn’t just to steal people?"
"Stealing people is certainly part of it. Any people Sehyun Wang fancies, I’ll take them for myself. But that’s only one aspect. You are soone I trust, so I don’t mind telling you. I’ve received news that the City Lord of Skyward City might be injured." Hana Yun’s face shifted from one of lustful desire to one of cruelty.
No wonder Miss Yun rushed over as soon as she received the news.
At the ti, he thought it was just because she was interested in those two people, but it turns out her real purpose was to probe the weaknesses of the Skyward City Lord’s Mansion.
"But isn’t the City Lord of Skyward City your uncle?" Yuji, who had only been transferred to Hana Yun’s side three years ago, didn’t know all the details.
"Even blood brothers can turn against each other," Hana Yun said dismissively.
If she really had any familial affection for Sehyun Wang, she wouldn’t be going out of her way to steal people from her.
Yuji had vaguely heard that Hana Yun and Sehyun Wang’s mother didn’t get along well when they were young, but now he knew it was true.
"But what’s the benefit of dragging the Skyward City Lord’s Mansion into this?" Yuji still didn’t fully understand.
"Naturally, it’s to make the situation even bigger," Hana Yun replied with confidence.
"In that case, why are we waiting outside? If they really bring reinforcents, wouldn’t that put us at a disadvantage?"
"Do you really think I’m going to just sit outside the City Lord’s Mansion waiting?" Hana Yun suddenly smirked, a wicked glint in her eyes. "You’ll understand soon enough."
It wasn’t until the next day that Yuji realized—Miss Yun had been waiting for reinforcents of her own.
Although the City Lord of Skyward City had taken so powerful person with him, there were still strong guards left at the City Lord’s Mansion.
If it ca down to a fight, with only one person on their side, they definitely wouldn’t be able to hold out, which is why Miss Yun had called for additional reinforcents.
As the sun rose, an elderly man with a long, white beard appeared, bathed in the morning light.
