Initially, Renshu Chang thought that perhaps an exceptional talent would erge in this competition and that the grand-uncle had foreseen this.

But after seeing the candidates today, he couldn’t help but feel disappointed.

There were geniuses, yes, and several of them, but none seed to reach the extraordinary level he had anticipated.

Wigilia Han said, "The grand-uncle rarely makes requests. This is the first ti in thousands of years, so it’s highly likely."

Alisha Fan nodded his head in agreent, "If not a hundred percent, then it’s at least ninety-nine percent likely."

Renshu Chang was speechless.

To him, there was no real difference between the two—he might as well not have said anything.

The thought of having an uncle who wasn’t as powerful as them but outranked them by two or three generations was exhausting.

Hopefully, the chosen one wouldn’t be an incompetent person.

Many of the candidates this ti were princes or nobles from small countries.

Although there were also many unaffiliated cultivators, most of them had already been eliminated, and their characters were hard to judge.

If the grand-uncle ended up choosing an eccentric unaffiliated cultivator instead of a princes or nobles, the Green Lotus Sect might face unrest.

"What will the third test involve, uncles?" Renshu Chang quickly asked.

"Strength, ntal fortitude, and willpower have already been tested. Next, it’s ti to test their character," Wigilia Han replied.

In the past, the focus would have been primarily on strength.

But this ti, the stakes were high, and they couldn’t afford to be careless.

No one wanted to end up with a wild, unruly elder with questionable character.

Renshu Chang breathed a sigh of relief, glad that his uncles weren’t foolish.

Half an hour later, Renshu Chang appeared in the plaza right on ti.

"It looks like everyone has mostly recovered. Now we’ll begin the third test. Do not resist; a teleportation array will transport each of you to a designated location."

Each person individually?

That ant everyone would be separated for this test.

Amalia exchanged a glance with Kenny Lin.

Soon, the number of people in the plaza started to dwindle until the last person disappeared.

Amalia’s feet touched the ground and landing on a patch of soft grass.

Not far away, a white-robed woman was facing away from her, tending to an injured person lying on the ground, covered in blood.

She was bandaging him.

The white-robed woman quickly noticed Amalia’s presence and imdiately turned her head, "Co over and help!"

Amalia confird she was being addressed and walked over.

Up close, the man’s injuries were even more severe.

His abdon had a gaping wound, and one of his arms was missing.

He looked like he was on the brink of death.

Amalia pressed down on the abdominal wound to prevent further bleeding.

"This won’t work. At this rate, my senior brother will die at any mont. I know of a cliff nearby with a type of spirit herb that can bring soone back from the brink of death. You stay here and watch over him while I go find it. Be careful, though; this place is frequently visited by demonic beasts. We can’t move my senior brother or his injuries will be worsen," the white-robed woman said hurriedly before rushing off without waiting for Amalia’s agreent.

Although Amalia didn’t understand why the woman trusted a stranger to help and left the injured man in her care, she assud this was part of the third test.

Shortly after the white-robed woman left, the sounds of demonic beasts roaring could be heard nearby.

The sll of blood was too strong; it wouldn’t be long before a demonic beast arrived.

Amalia looked down at the injured man.

He couldn’t be moved.

Could he be treated here?

The sounds of the demonic beasts’ roars grew closer and closer, leaving Amalia with little ti to hesitate.

She decided to give it a try imdiately.

A rustling of footsteps suddenly sounded.

Amalia looked over cautiously and saw a group of people appear, they were stunned for a mont when they saw her.

But when their eyes fell on the injured man on the ground, their expressions changed.

"Senior Brother," one of them called out, but they didn’t rush over.

Instead, they glared at Amalia suspiciously, "Who are you? Did you harm our Senior Brother?"

"A young woman asked to help look after him. She went to find a spiritual herb," Amalia explained.

Their expressions relaxed instantly, "So that’s it. You must be talking about our Senior Sister. Since we’ve found our Senior Brother, you don’t need to help anymore. Just leave him to us."

Normally, if soone saw the injured man’s fellow disciples arrive, they would hand over the troubleso burden to them without hesitation.

However, Amalia looked at them and slowly shook her head, "The young woman asked to take care of him, and I agreed. How could I go back on my word?"

"Our Senior Sister asked you to help because no one else was around. Now that we’re here, we don’t need you anymore," said a white-robed man with a green tassel hanging from his sword hilt while stepping forward.

Amalia’s eyes narrowed slightly, then she raised her gaze, her eyes now shining with determination, "But how do I know for sure that you are truly his fellow disciples?"

"You..." A young man among them started to get angry but was stopped by the white-robed man.

"Her suspicion is not unreasonable."

The white-robed man didn’t get angry.

Instead, he smiled and raised the sword in his hand, "Friend, this should be able prove it. The green tassel is a special feature for inner disciples of the Green Lotus Sect. You can compare it with the tassel on our Senior Brother’s sword."

Amalia glanced at the sword that was clutched tightly in the injured man’s hand.

Indeed, it had a green tassel attached to it.

The craftsmanship and design were identical to the green tassel on the white-robed man’s sword, making it almost certain they were from the sa sect.
