It was in even worse condition than the first.

The intruders had been thorough—walls were slashed open, revealing the solid red bricks beneath.

It seed that, failing to find what they were looking for, they had grown impatient, leaving deep scars of their blades across nearly every surface.

Kenny Lin frowned slightly. "It’s been so many years... Do you think there are still any clues left here?"

"I don’t know. After I discovered the existence of the Soltice Ring, I ca back once—but I didn’t dare get too close."

"Why not?"

Amalia’s gaze darkened as she stared at the faded, dried bloodstains on the walls. "Because the mont I approached, I sensed soone watching the area. At the ti, their strength far surpassed mine, so I didn’t dare linger and imdiately left."

"A cultivator?" Kenny Lin imdiately caught on.

"If I’m not mistaken, yes."

The long-buried hatred within Amalia’s heart began to resurface as the truth beca clearer.

"A cultivator keeping watch over the ruins of a massacred family for years? That doesn’t exactly sound like a nostalgic reunion." Kenny Lin rubbed his chin.

His casual remark snapped Amalia out of her thoughts.

Reunion?

Only he could co up with sothing like that.

"Enough jokes. I’m serious—do you think cultivators like Duan Yinghou might know anything?"

"Duan Yinghou? No idea. But I do know soone who definitely knows sothing." Kenny Lin arched an eyebrow smugly.

"Who?" Amalia asked, surprised.

She had assud he’d spent these past few days in seclusion, focusing on cultivation.

Had he actually been gathering information instead?

"Rafael."

Kenny Lin snapped his fingers.

"And who’s that?"

"The leader of the underground black market—and a cultivator himself. He’s at the Foundation Building stage. He used to deal in intelligence and knows a lot of secrets that most people don’t. Rumor has it that he even hosted auctions specifically for cultivator-related items. If we ask him, we might get so unexpected answers. So? Interested?"

"Then let’s go ask."

In the past, when she lacked strength, she didn’t dare to investigate freely, fearing that exposing her whereabouts would alert those watching Amalia.

However, now that she was powerful, no matter how many lurking threats erged, she had nothing to fear.

Finding no useful clues in the Vanquez family ruins, the two of them quickly left and returned to the royal court.

Rafael had been staying in the royal court for the past few days to recover from his injuries.

With Planet Veloxia no longer under the threat of sudden alien attacks, soone of his status had no real reason to remain.

And yet, not just him—none of the other cultivators had left either.

Everyone knew exactly why.

It was because of Amalia and Kenny Lin.

The overwhelming power the two of them had displayed was beyond anything they had ever known, and no one wanted to miss the opportunity to learn more from them.

Rafael’s injuries were severe.

Before his death, Han Li had launched a desperate counterattack, forcing Rafael to use up rare and precious treasures just to barely recover.

Since then, he had been racking his brain, trying to think of a reasonable excuse to approach Amalia and Kenny Lin.

Unfortunately, the two of them rarely left their rooms.

The seemingly more approachable of the two had not stepped outside even once, while the other carried an aura so unwelcoming that no one dared get close.

"I need to ask you sothing—what kind of excuse do you think would work to approach those two immortals?"

One day, Rafael summoned one of his subordinates.

Yevon grimaced. "Boss, if even you can’t think of one, how could I, with my dumb little brain, co up with anything?"

He wasn’t being self-deprecating—his teammates always said the sa thing about him.

Rafael exhaled in frustration.

He really shouldn’t have expected anything from this idiot. "Just throw out so ideas. Anything is better than nothing."

"Oh! How about asking to be their disciple?" Yevon suggested imdiately, even making a slurping sound as he spoke.

Ever since they had witnessed the two in action, none of them dared to call themselves immortals anymore.

Rafael’s expression darkened instantly. "Do you really think an immortal would take soone like as their disciple?"

Yevon let out an awkward noise, sizing up his boss.

With his muscular build, he looked even stronger than the so-called immortals.

He quickly shook his head. "Yeah... probably not."

Rafael grabbed a chair and hurled it at him.

Yevon barely dodged in ti, and the chair smashed against the wall, shattering into pieces.

"Boss, are you serious?!" Yevon yelled, jumping in shock at the sight of the broken chair.

"I’m not just serious—I’d like to stab you, too."

Rafael snatched a knife off the table and flung it.

Just then, the door swung open, and the knife embedded itself into the doorfra, missing the person entering by re centiters.

The newcor nearly had their soul scared out of them.

"Boss, what did I do wrong?! Why are you trying to assassinate ?!" The man called Anto, stared at his leader in horror.

Rafael, already furious, glared at him. "Do you have sothing to report?"

Anto swallowed nervously. "There are two people outside asking for you. They look a lot like the immortals who slaughtered countless aliens on the battlefield that day."

"Quick! Invite them in!" Rafael’s expression changed instantly.

He hadn’t even figured out how to approach them, and yet, they had co to him.

"I’ll bring them in right away!" Seeing how flustered his boss was, Anto rushed off.

"Clean this ss up," Rafael ordered while suppressing the urge to throw Yevon out of the room.

By the ti Amalia and Kenny Lin were led inside, the room had been tidied up—except for the missing chair.

"I’m sorry I cannot greet Ms. Amalia and Mr. Kenny properly."

As soon as Rafael saw them, he stood up with a bright smile, his posture neither servile nor arrogant, though perhaps a little too enthusiastic.

"Mr. Rafael, you are the leader of the underground black market, Sable Andalus League, aren’t you?" Amalia didn’t bother with pleasantries.
