"Sorry! Sorry, Aiden! I—I—I... I didn’t do it on purpose!"

She hurriedly grabbed a napkin, fumbling as she tried to wipe the wet stain off his chest, awkward and frantic.

Aiden Fordham lowered his gaze to look at his shirt, then raised his eyes to her panicked face.

"It’s fine."

His tone was flat, you couldn’t tell if he was angry or pleased.

"I’ll go change."

After saying that, he turned and walked straight to the private lounge nearby.

Stella Grant’s heart was pounding wildly.

Change clothes? Here?

She instinctively wanted to find sowhere to hide, but in this spacious lounge, aside from a sleek bed and a wardrobe jamd with clothes, there was... nowhere to hide!

Even the shower in the corner was trendy and fully transparent glass.

Desperate, she dodged behind the right side of the huge wardrobe, pressing tightly against the cold door, holding her breath.

The lounge door hadn’t closed properly.

Aiden walked in, casually stripped off the coffee-stained shirt, revealing a sculpted, muscular back and arms.

His bronze skin glowed healthily under the lights.

Stella sneaked a quick glance, imdiately jerked her head away, face flaming like she was on fire.

Guilty.

So, so guilty.

He took out a brand-new black shirt from the wardrobe and put it on, moving slowly and deliberately.

Just then, the lounge door was gently pushed open.

Corinne Kensington walked in, face still carrying traces of panic and... deliberately shy.

She didn’t say a word, just stepped forward and boldly wrapped her arms around Aiden’s waist from behind, pressing her cheek tightly against his broad back.

"Aiden..."

Her voice was soft and sweet, clearly coquettish.

"Do you love ?"

Aiden’s hand, busy with his buttons, paused.

He didn’t turn back.

"Of course."

His voice was still calm, almost like it was obvious.

Corinne tightened her hold, buried her head even deeper.

"Then why..."

Her voice now tinged with grievance and confusion.

"Why do you keep rejecting ? Don’t you... want ?"

The air froze.

Aiden stayed silent, didn’t answer right away.

Stella, hiding by the wardrobe, felt her heart pounding like a drum, about to burst from her throat.

All she heard was Corinne, desperate and determined, saying, "I want to be your woman!"

She even lifted Aiden’s large hand hanging by his side, guiding it to circle her slender waist.

Aiden’s body stiffened slightly.

He gently pulled her hands away and turned around to face her.

"My marriage with her isn’t over yet."

His gaze was deep, completely unreadable.

"Wait a little longer."

Corinne looked up at him, eyes rimd red, but still nodded hard.

"Okay."

She sniffed, her voice choked, "I’ll wait for you, Aiden, however long it takes."

Stella’s lips twitched, feeling like her ears were about to rust!

She clearly rembered that not long ago, Aiden had insisted to her that he and Corinne had never had anything between them.

Never.

Ha.

Maybe... soon enough, they will.

"Bang bang bang!"

A burst of rapid, violent knocking shattered the tension in the lounge.

"President Fordham? President Fordham, are you in there?"

It was Keegan Lindsey’s voice, full of panic.

Keegan pushed open the office door outside, saw no one inside, and nearly had a heart attack.

He rushed to knock here, now all three of them are inside?

He knocked even harder, his voice changing with nerves.

"President Fordham, the guest’s here! The important guest is already in the conference room! She’s here! She’s already here!"

Aiden frowned, pulled open the lounge door, and quickly did up the last button of his shirt.

Standing at the door was Keegan, panting and sweating buckets.

Keegan’s gaze slipped past Aiden, landing on Corinne, who stood just a step behind him.

Corinne had her head slightly bowed, cheeks flushed, eyes darting away—totally giving off that [aftermath] bashfulness.

Keegan: "..."

His brain crashed instantly.

Holy shit?

What the hell?

Corinne... scored!!

He’d just gone out to tell the secretary to buy so stuff, poured a cup of coffee, it had been five minutes, tops.

President Fordham went in the lounge... Miss Kensington followed... and now... looking like this?

Keegan’s mind went boom, hit with a massive piece of gossip.

No way?

The boss—he’s that fast?

Just a few minutes and... all done?

Suddenly, he rembered President Fordham’s ss with the divorce.

Could it be... is it because the boss... couldn’t satisfy his wife?

So the wife is hellbent on leaving?

And the boss, just to prove his "manhood" or in the heat of the mont, hooked up with Miss Kensington...

Isn’t the wife hiding inside?

Did they... actually do it in front of the wife...

Keegan shivered, refused to think any further.

Way too much info, his CPU was overheating.

Aiden ignored the colorful expressions on Keegan’s face.

He turned to Corinne and said, "Wait here for . I’ll be back."

Then, long legs striding, he headed straight out toward Conference Room 3.

Keegan snapped back, his professionalism kicking in imdiately.

He couldn’t let Corinne stay and stir up trouble, not with the wife still...

Thinking quick, he pasted on an enthusiastic smile and moved close to Corinne.

"Miss Kensington."

He lowered his voice mysteriously.

"Did you know? President Fordham had the engineering departnt custom-build a super-luxurious private screening room just for you to watch your movies anyti!"

Corinne’s eyes lit up instantly, totally delighted, "Really?"

"Of course it’s true!"

Keegan patted his chest and exaggerated his assurance.

"President Fordham cares about you so much! The screening room is fully top-tier equipnt! Want to go check it out now? Feel his affection for you?"

"Yes, yes! Take there, quick."

Corinne was successfully distracted, nodding eagerly in excitent.

Keegan quickly beckoned to the secretary waiting nearby, "Secretary Cole, please take Miss Kensington up to the screening room on the 78th floor."

"Certainly, Assistant Lindsey. Miss Kensington, this way please."

The secretary respectfully escorted Corinne, who looked absolutely over the moon, out of the room.

Swoosh—

Keegan let out a long breath, feeling like he’d just fought a tough battle.

Private screening room, my ass! It was just the executives’ entertainnt lounge!

He straightened his tie, walked back to the lounge door, and this ti knocked politely.

"Ma’am?"

"Ma’am? Are you in there?"

The door opened from the inside, and Stella Grant walked out.

Her face showed no hint of anger; she said nothing at all, just slapped the signed divorce agreent onto his chest.

Keegan instinctively took it, eyes roaming over her face.

He’d expected to see hurt, anger, embarrassnt, or at least so intense emotion.

But there was nothing.

"Ma’am, President Fordham is in Conference Room 3, I’ll take you over."

"No need, the agreent’s signed, the date for the civil office is set, just notify ."

She turned to leave as soon as she finished.

Keegan rushed after her, cautiously asking, "Ma’am, just now inside, you..."

Stella shot him a look, her expression... aningful?

Almost like she was saying: There’s really nothing worth seeing!

And with a cool swagger, she left!
