In the past two years, Professor Bai has been living in Jiamu Gully quite comfortably, with his energy and spirit improving greatly.
The old man strode over, heavily patting Chen Ying on the shoulder several tis, leaving Chen Ying gritting his teeth but not daring to make a sound.
The noise finally woke up the pregnant Fierce White Tiger. It yawned widely with its eyes closed, stretched lazily with all four paws in the air, then rolled half a circle to either side before finally opening its eyes, bright and clear.
"Roar~~ Oh my gosh, what are you guys doing?" The Fierce White Tiger rumbled with a throat noise, got up, took a step back, and then let out a howl.
This guy didn't have an ounce of the majestic aura of a tiger; it was entirely like a super big cat with white tiger stripes.
It twitched its nostrils, sowhat uncertainly approaching Chen Ying.
With the teacher's reminder, Chen Ying realized that this little guy was one of the pair of little white tigers given as a thank you gift back in the day.
Initially exchanged for research on the Huanan Tiger with other institutions, this female tiger cub later returned to this Wildlife Park near Jiamu Gully, where visiting tourists nad it "Bai Bingyang."
The once adorable little white tiger had grown to weigh nearly three hundred pounds but was famously timid in the Wildlife Park.
Precisely because of this, once it was confird that it was pregnant, everyone was intensely curious to know who the father of its cub was. After reviewing all the surveillance footage, the current suspect for the tiger dad is the most powerful Northeast Tiger in the Tiger Leopard Park, also the Tiger King that Bai Bingyang fears the most.
Individually, Bai Bingyang seems big enough, but in the group, it is just a small dwarf.
A normal female Fierce White Tiger is about 2.7 ters long, weighing up to 181 kilograms, which is around three hundred and sixty pounds. However, Bai Bingyang is only 2.43 ters in length, and even with the cub in its belly, it weighs just over 290 pounds.
Since the pregnancy confirmation, Little Sen has been feeding it like a pig, and it has only gained twenty pounds; otherwise, it would be even thinner.
"Later, it will need enhanced nutrition, or else its small body may not withstand the hardships of raising cubs." Chen Ying frowned after looking at the asurent data.
Bai Bingyang seed completely unconcerned about itself, it nudged Chen Ying's leg, wanting to snuggle with him.
"What's up, Bai Bingyang?" Chen Ying graciously squatted down for the big cat to rub its face against his.
"Roar, are you my dad?"
Chen Ying was stunned, his hand that was petting the fur stiffened for a mont.
"They said you don't like because I'm too big, so if I beco smaller, would you let stay?"
This ti, not only was Chen Ying's hand stiffened, but his whole body froze, and his heart ached slightly.
"Silly child..." For a mont, he didn't know what to say and could only hug Bai Bingyang tightly.
Chen Ying had never taken the two little white tigers seriously; his focus was on the few big cats at ho, and Bai Bingyang and the other male White Tiger nad "Bai Linghai" had always lived in the Wildlife Park since they were young, with no contact, where would the feelings co from?
But what Chen Ying didn't expect was that Bai Bingyang knew him and had always longed for him to take it ho.
If it weren't for others being around at this mont, he could have slapped himself a few tis.
Seeing the genuine emotion on Chen Ying's face, Professor Bai signaled Dr. Ou and Xiao Shen to head back to the office first, leaving the place for Chen Ying.
After Professor Bai and the others left, Leopard Sister wandered around outside before also entering Bai Bingyang's maternity room.
"Two-legged beast, is this really your cub? Then why haven't you let it co back to live?"
Upon hearing Leopard Sister's words, Bai Bingyang beca unhappy, tugging at Chen Ying's pant leg, its big face wrinkled with grievance.
"Bai Bingyang is a Fierce White Tiger, but it's a different species compared to Elder Tiger and Dong Sheng before. I thought staying in the tiger group would be better for it; I didn't realize this child is sensitive."
Leopard Sister yawned, "Alright, since you've acknowledged it, let it stay. After Elder Tiger left, that territory is perfect for this one."
Chen Ying thought for a mont and agreed with Leopard Sister's arrangent.
That cave in Old Northern Gully has nearly beco an exclusive for the fierce tigers. But I must say, the environnt around the cave is nice, with abundant food, and it's at the junction of northern and southern tiger paths. Having a tiger stationed there can at least deter so who have bad intentions.
On my return this ti, friends from the Northeast Tiger and Leopard Park told that there are signs of revival in so previously quelled poaching thods.
My friend even sent two photos, one showing a pregnant roe deer dead beside a trap.
Although no unauthorized traps or poaching tools with alarms like spring traps and electric nets have been found around Jiamu Gully for now, not too long ago, an illegally set up electric net was discovered near a more distant village.
According to follow-up investigations by local volunteers, the villagers who set up the electric net weren't poaching; they rely wanted to drive away wild boars and hoofed animals destroying their crops.
But this situation has raised a warning: without strengthened awareness and inspection, soone might just take the risk.
It's still early to discuss this since Bai Bingyang's belly hasn't unloaded yet, so it's not possible to move for now.
This gentle and timid one has never experienced living alone in the wild; if actually moved there, it might just starve itself along with the cub.
After comforting Bai Bingyang for a while, Chen Ying planned to check on Elder Tiger.
Currently, Elder Tiger stays mostly near the temporary beast house where Golden Cat used to live. The terrain there is flat, with plenty of food and convenient for human feeding.
