The heat ca fast and faded just as quickly.
A week later, hardly anyone was talking about it anymore.
The main attraction at the rescue center now is the power struggle between the male panda and ndun’er.
ndun’er has sohow managed to win over Brother Leopard and Leopard Sister, so each ti the male panda goes out to forage, he’s t with provocation.
Though strong, the constant disruptions have left him eating poorly and sleeping worse, making the dark circles around his eyes even more pronounced and casting a nacing glare at the other animals in the rescue center.
"Brother Ying, could you ask Jinya and Leopard Sister to stop ssing with that male panda?"
One day, a few young n from the patrol team’s forest division ca directly to the rescue center for help.
"That male panda’s temper is really short now. Last ti we ran into him on the road, he almost pounced on . If we hadn’t been quick on our feet, we’d likely have so serious injuries."
The young n were at their wits’ end. They’d even tried to soothe the male panda with stead buns and honey, but although he ate the food, he was still threatening them.
Chen Ying was aware of ndun’er and the others causing trouble, but he hadn’t realized the panda had mastered the art of strategic retreat.
Unable to deal with the Cat Gang, the panda vented his frustration on the patrol team instead.
To resolve this issue, they needed to start with Mama Panda.
Perhaps knowing that she was getting older and found raising cubs tiring, Mama Panda now felt at ease leaving the two cubs at the station, frequently going out to enjoy good food and drink.
This ti, she hadn’t returned for almost ten hours.
Taking advantage of the pleasant weather, not too hot or cold, Chen Ying laid a blanket out on the grass and brought the two little cubs out to enjoy the sun, setting up a live-streaming stand next to them.
The live stream was connected to the center’s account.
Matrix accounts are all the rage now, and this account specifically streams wild giant pandas.
Mama Panda didn’t have a na initially, only a number. But since she was an older wild panda and gave birth to twins, the center decided to give her a na.
"Sasa is the na of this Mama Panda. The one with relatively wide shoulder straps and a narrow cross on the back is Sasa’s Big Zai. The one with a loud voice, relatively less black, and almond-shaped eye patches is Sasa’s Little Cub."
Chen Ying put on a mask to hide his face, then brought out the two cubs and started the live stream, taking the opportunity to give them a quick check-up.
"Both of them have opened their eyes, but they can’t move well yet and need help to turn over. Their main food is still breast milk, and it’ll be a few months before they can follow Mama outside and begin to try solid food, usually tender bamboo leaves and shoots."
Before Sasa returned, they needed to be hand-fed, though not too frequently, or they’d beco too much like captive pandas.
Luckily, although Sasa likes to slack off, she rembers she has two cubs to feed at ho.
Around noon, just as the keepers were considering stepping in to feed the cubs, Sasa returned.
ndun’er also ca back with her.
However, ndun’er seed to be in a bad mood and sulked under the wood fra as soon as he returned.
Sasa unceremoniously sprawled onto the blanket, cuddling her two little cubs close for feeding, then looked at Chen Ying, seemingly saying, "Mom’s hungry, when’s the food coming?"
Chen Ying quickly brought over the pre-prepared bamboo and buns, breaking open a bun and stuffing it into Sasa’s wide-open mouth for her to chew.
The virtually inactive live chat suddenly exploded with comnts like "..."—anyone with trypophobia would have a field day.
"Is this a wild cat? You’re telling this is a wild cat? Even house cats aren’t this gentle!"
At this mont, the livestream viewers heard soone speaking nearby.
"Brother Ying, the viewers are questioning whether Sasa is really a wild cat."
"Not a wild cat? Well, let’s switch and find out."
Chen Ying put down the food tray, stepped back a bit, and stood to the side.
Another keeper with a cool hairstyle cautiously approached Sasa, picked up the bun Chen Ying had broken, and tentatively moved it toward Sasa.
The livestream audience then witnessed a panda’s face change dramatically.
If that young man hadn’t stayed alert, he might’ve actually gotten bitten.
Seeing a disgruntled Sasa attempting to roll over to chase after him, Chen Ying quickly stepped in to pacify her, giving her a back rub and a chin scratch.
Under the wood fra, ndun’er’s eyes shifted, as if he was scheming sothing.
Chen Ying continued to feed her, the cara slightly adjusting to show a few "carrot people" on the first-floor platform, flooding the screen with laughter.
The cozy scene didn’t last long before a call suddenly ca from off-screen.
Chen Ying jumped up in surprise.
Even Sasa was startled, making the two little ones sleeping on her belly roll off imdiately.
"Oh no, ndun’er, what are you doing? Let go of him, be careful!"
Everyone heard Chen Ying’s string of exclamations, followed by him quickly rushing toward a small building.
Unfortunately, the cara didn’t follow, so they couldn’t see what happened.
Three or four minutes later, a young man dashed through the fra—the sa cool-haired keeper who’d tried to feed Sasa earlier.
Behind him, ndun’er was chasing him down, and to everyone’s amazent, ndun’er tackled him.
Gasps filled the air as Chen Ying rushed over, ready to push ndun’er away, only to hear it bleating and even flashing a mischievous grin!
With an impish look right at Sasa, the viewers couldn’t make it out on their small screens, but Chen Ying clearly saw the expression asking for praise.
