Chen Ying heard the words and ran off at a sprint.

Dashing through the bamboo forest, she arrived at the tree under which Jinya loved to stay and looking up, saw the lynx sister silently licking her wounds.

On another stone, Mr. Lepus tested the waters over and over, trying to apologize to his sister, but Jinya wouldn't let him get close and was making threatening sounds at him.

"What happened, why did you two start fighting?"

Chen Ying reached out to Jinya.

The tree branch wasn't high, and it was easy to reach Jinya's hind legs.

Seeing Chen Ying co over, Jinya threw herself into his embrace, whimpering pitifully.

Among the lynx species, Jinya's size was average.

Weighing between 24 to 26 kilograms with a body length of less than 110 centiters, she was a clingy big cat.

Mr. Lepus looked much bigger than his sister. His exact weight was not asured, but judging by his shape, it should have been around thirty-five kilograms, with a body length definitely exceeding 1.4 ters. Among the group, he could be considered a tall individual.

As Jinya's brother, Mr. Lepus had a relatively gentle personality compared to other male lynxes, especially when teaching the little lynxes. It would be better to say that instead of taking care of his little wife, he was practicing how to take care of his daughter.

Chen Ying held Jinya, letting her chin rest on his shoulder, and kept comforting her.

His gaze swept across the opposite side, and indeed behind the stone, he saw the intimidated-looking Little Lynx.

There was a ssy spot of fur on Little Lynx's head; it was unclear whether it was injured or just licked into that state.

Chen Ying cleverly didn't show any concern for Little Lynx, only gave a look to Mr. Lepus, and walked away with Jinya.

Mr. Lepus sat anthropomorphically on the stone, seeming a little weary as he let out a sigh.

While carrying Jinya to the rescue station, they passed by Bamboo Forest Slope, where Mama Panda's voice ca down.

"Did that little cat get beaten up? I've always said, with its good looks, why not find a mate? Always following its brother around, it was bound to get beat up sooner or later."

Panda Mother enjoyed watching the excitent without worrying about the turmoil. She continued gnawing on bamboo while Little Zhi Ma fiddled with the bamboo scraps left on her belly, occasionally picking up a few bamboo nodes to nibble.

Watching them made Chen Ying's eyelids twitch, wondering if it was a blessing or a curse for Little Zhi Ma to be back with her mother.

They returned to the animal shed where Jinya used to live.

It was very clean inside, and the straw mat Jinya liked was still spread on the stone platform.

He put the clingy big cat down, rummaged through its fur to confirm there were no injuries, and then Chen Ying rubbed her head vigorously.

"I'm going to get you so food, wait here for , don't run around, it's not good to scare others."

Jinya lay on her back on the grass mat, gazing at Chen Ying with eager eyes.

There was so at left over that they had prepared for Leopard Sister earlier, which was just right for Jinya.

But the at was frozen in the freezer and had to be thawed before it could be eaten.

While Chen Ying was fetching the at, he told Xiao Song to keep an eye on Golden Cat until he could co back and take over after Jinya had quieted down.

Duanmu and Little Sen had to do a check-up for ndun'er today; the preparations for the release were complicated, involving submitting various reports and archiving data. The two were so busy that even with Little Deng helping, they were run off their feet.

Upon hearing from Yin Li that Chen Ying had brought Jinya back, Little Sen didn't even have the ti to co and watch the commotion, rely squeezing in a mont to send a voice ssage in the work group, asking Chen Ying to send him a photo of Jinya whining.

There was no help for it—Jinya knew Little Sen was a scaredy-cat who loved big cats. Every ti he ca over, she would suddenly spook him. It was rare to hear that Jinya got disciplined, and Little Sen couldn't help but gloat.

Chen Ying soothed Jinya like soothing a little girlfriend, with exceptional patience.

Jinya clung to his arm, refusing to let him go, so he sat down beside her, brushing her fur, giving her massages, and hand-feeding her snack chunks.

After smoothing the fur enough, Chen Ying carefully asked her how she had started fighting with her brother.

Jinya was initially having a great ti playing with Chen Ying, but upon hearing this, she beca agitated and started humming and hollering again.

"Ow, I just didn't allow him on my sleeping tree, and brother yelled at ."

"And also, it was itself that fell down, it wasn't who pushed it, and if it got hurt, I wouldn't have known, okay? No one knew it would be that clumsy."

Jinya felt utterly wronged, "anie brother, I won't be nice to it ever again."

Chen Ying didn't have to be a fan of soap dramas to detect a hint of the white lotus persona.

Well, what do you know, even the animal kingdom has small white lotus beast setups?

The first animal he made contact with was Jinya; the mory of Jinya's pitiful state when she was seriously injured was still imprinted in his mind, so it was natural for him to be partial to Jinya, and that was fine.

"In the future, you'll have to get by on your own, by next year you'll be a Big Cat, and it'll be ti to find a mate and have babies. Sooner or later, you and your brother will have to part ways."

As he spoke, he couldn't help but feel uneasy inside, was this considered stirring up sibling rivalry?

Jinya whined and coaxed for hugs and pats, and even wanted him to hand-feed her the defrosted at right to her mouth.

Yin Li leaned against the wall by the door, watching their affectionate display with a look of disgust.

"If only you showed half the attention you give to Jinya to the ladies, you wouldn't still be single."

Chen Ying retaliated without even raising his head.

"As if you aren't a lifelong singleton yourself. At least I've had girls show interest in , you turn them all into one of the guys."

Both brothers had plenty of embarrassing points to poke fun at.

An annoyed Yin Li tossed down the at-filled basin and headed back to the office.

When it was ti to give Little Golden Cat her steam treatnt, Chen Ying comforted Jinya and let her rest in the Animal shed, then he changed his clothes and entered the ergency room.

Little Golden Cat's breathing was still rapid, but the strength of her breaths had improved quite a bit from the past few days.

"Go blend so minced at into a paste for her, add the nutritional powder and mix it in, keep it on the lighter side. Once the steam treatnt is over, I'll give her a couple of acupuncture shots near her tailbone, then we can feed her the paste."

As long as she could eat on her own, there was a chance for recovery.

The entire treatnt process of Little Golden Cat was recorded on video, along with written reports docunting everything from daily consumption, what was eaten, to bowel movents, with every detail ticulously noted.

The nutritional powder for Little Golden Cat was personally formulated by Professor Bai, adjusted according to her health condition.

Now when he picked her up, it wasn't just a feeling of bones, there was slightly more flesh.

But the ribs were still prominent, weak and delicate to the point where one might fear crushing her with slightly too much force.

After the treatnt, which took more than two hours.

Jinya had, at so point, snuck out and was perched on the ergency room's windowsill, silently watching through the glass as Chen Ying and Xiao Song treated Little Golden Cat.

Seeing the long needle going into Little Golden Cat's body, Jinya shuddered, her muscles tensing up.

After watching for a while, she jumped down thoughtfully from the windowsill, squeezed out through the iron bars along the hallway, and quickly disappeared into the woods.

In a short while, she returned with a Bamboo rat in her mouth, placed it at the door of the ergency room, and ran off again.

Across the building on the second floor, Master Zhao, having struggled to finish filling out a form, stood up for a break and just happened to see Jinya's bustling activity.

"Ali, co take a look, isn't that Jinya? What is she doing?"

Yin Li massaged his neck and approached the window, watching for a while before pulling out a small pair of binoculars from the desk,

"Hey, Jinya actually caught quite a few Bamboo rats. Uncle Zhao, you're busy, I'll go take a look."

Back when the Rescue station only had him and Chen Ying, Yin Li also helped with Jinya's feeding, so when he approached, although Jinya huffed impatiently twice, she didn't make any aggressive moves.

"Little Jinya, what are you doing? Wasn't today's beef enough, are these your preparations for a midnight snack?"

Jinya didn't quite understand what Yin Li was saying, but she could tell from his tone that he was making fun of her.

She bumped her head against Yin Li's leg to express her disdain and continued her busy work.

After all, she was the beautiful and sensible Big Cat, not so idle Two-legged beast always causing trouble, hmph! ╭(╯^╰)╮
