They didn't have a waterproof bag, so they wrapped the mobile phones in plastic bags, with a small piece of animal skin inside to insulate them from the low temperature.
Then they carefully passed the mobile phones over with a steel fork.
Upon seeing the steel fork, the Snow Leopard stood up and breathed heavily towards them, readying itself for an attack.
"Hey, Brother Snow Leopard, is that you? Rember , the human who was up on the mountain with Mr. Lepus. I heard you ca down the mountain, is there sothing wrong? How is your little Snow Leopard sister doing?"
The Snow Leopard's expression froze for a mont, it lowered its head closer to the mobile phone, and let out a howl.
"Who, what is this?"
It was indeed that dirty Snow Leopard.
Chen Ying couldn't see the other party's expression, so he could only try to convey his aning with his voice.
"If you have sothing to say, give two calls, and I'll help you communicate with the humans, okay?"
The Snow Leopard was silent, its gaze sweeping back and forth over the humans not far away, then turned its head to look at the tent, seeming a bit confused by Chen Ying's words.
At this mont, the quick-thinking vet from Gula Gully had already managed to get in touch with Little Sen and, through Little Sen, was able to speak with Chen Ying.
"Dr. Chen, this Snow Leopard looks very healthy, it isn't injured, nor does it appear to be sick," the Gula Gully vet observed for a while and continued, "I see it has been guarding the tent of Dr. Gao's group, and just contacted Dr. Gao, who confird that they had no previous contact with this Snow Leopard."
After hearing the words of the Gula Gully vet, Chen Ying asked him to turn on a video call; he needed to see the Snow Leopard's condition.
But the network here was extrely poor; the video call was unstable with the audio cutting in and out.
The Gula Gully vet simply took out a spare mobile phone and snapped a dozen or so photos, shifting positions to find a spot that could send the pictures.
Fate favors the diligent, and finally, re twenty ters away, they captured a sliver of signal.
After the photos were sent, Chen Ying on the other end observed them and was able to identify that it was the mightiest king of leopards on Snow Mountain.
Having confird its identity, Chen Ying tried his best to get it to talk, but after all, the Snow Leopard was an inhabitant of the mountain peak and spoke with little fluency.
"Pain, stomach, pain."
That was all it repeated back and forth, and the Snow Leopard visibly beca agitated, even scratching at the tent door with its paw.
"Listen, Brother Snow Leopard, listen to , is it your stomach that hurts?"
"Howl! It, pain, not eat."
It? Who was this 'it'?
Chen Ying slapped his forehead, rembering the frail little Snow Leopard he had seen before.
"Is it the little Snow Leopard that was with you before?"
"Yes," the Snow Leopard paced back and forth, nudged the mobile phone with its nose, and occasionally looked up.
The vet from Gula Gully described the Snow Leopard's current behavior beside him, but still couldn't understand why it was trying to scratch the door of Dr. Gao's tent.
"Hey, Brother Ying, I rember now, that tent Dr. Gao borrowed when he left, it seed to be the one you and Brother Li brought up the mountain."
Little Sen suddenly recalled this matter, "Dr. Gao also said if it got damaged, he'd compensate you with a new one when he ca down the mountain."
Okay, I probably understand what's going on.
It seed like Brother Snow Leopard had slled the scent on the tent and didn't expect that the occupants had changed.
"Dr. Gao, can you and Suo Wang follow the Snow Leopard up the mountain? I suspect another leopard is in trouble."
"What do you an?"
"There's another leopard within this Snow Leopard's territory. Since I haven't seen it up close, I can't confirm the little Snow Leopard's gender, nor the relationship between it and this Snow Leopard. But I believe this Snow Leopard ca down the mountain because sothing happened."
He told Suo Wang and the others about the tent that might have been used by him, as Little Sen said. Suo Wang imdiately inquired with Dr. Gao, who confird this point.
"But if we follow it up, won't we be attacked?"
"Probably not. After going up, you'll et two lynxes, one big and one rather small; they are Jinya's brother and sister-in-law. Don't make any aggressive moves, and if necessary, it's better to bring sothing with my scent on it."
Dr. Gao scratched his head in the tent for quite a while before he suddenly rembered he had procured sothing from the ergency station.
He rummaged through his bag for quite so ti, extracting a bowl.
This bowl, prepared by Chen Ying for Jinya, was commandeered by him on the spur of the mont, intending to use it to feed birds.
Fortunately, he hadn't started using it yet, so it should still have so of Chen Ying and Jinya's scent on it.
Dr. Gao cautiously pulled open a slit and pushed the stainless steel bowl out.
The Snow Leopard lowered its head to sniff, confirming the scent of that two-legged beast and the divine Big Cat Jinya on it.
It picked up the bowl, approached Suo Wang, then tossed its head, causing the bowl to clink and roll towards Suo Wang who grabbed it at once.
The Snow Leopard called out with a raised head.
On the phone, Chen Ying could hear more static than usual but could still make out the urgency in the Snow Leopard's tone.
"Suo Wang, pick up the bowl and follow it. Don't worry, it won't harm you."
"Prepare so things; it's very likely that the Snow Leopard is in trouble and needs ergency treatnt. If there's a lack of dicine and equipnt, have it sent up imdiately. If it can't be handled on the mountain, it must be moved down right away."
With a clear direction now, Suo Wang and the others stopped dawdling and gestured that they wanted to follow Brother Snow Leopard up the mountain.
True to form, Brother Snow Leopard, seeing that the humans understood its intent, didn't stay any longer and turned to run up the mountain.
The others couldn't keep up with its speed, but Suo Wang was alright, barely keeping up.
So Suo Wang took so ergency dical supplies and a few pieces of equipnt, making a light charge following it, with the others trailing behind.
After walking for a short ti, they saw a Tibetan uncle and several younger young n catching up.
Upon hearing that they were going to rescue the Snow Leopard off the mountain, the uncle without a word led his n up the mountain.
They lived in the high mountain adows all year round, adapted better to the highland climate, and climbed faster.
Even so, it still took quite so ti to arrive at Mr. Lepus's territory.
Mr. Lepus and his wife were very anxious; they had no interest in hunting and were guarding the entrance to the path down the mountain, their paws occasionally scratching the tree trunk.
The mountaintop was already being pelted with small snowflakes, scattering down like grains of rice.
Seeing the returning Snow Leopard, Mr. Lepus imdiately stood up straight, staring intently at it.
About thirty ters behind it, a two-legged beast was climbing upwards with difficulty, using both hands and feet.
Mr. Lepus jumped down from the tree, letting out a couple of howls at the Snow Leopard, urging it to move faster.
The Snow Leopard sped up, running towards the mountaintop.
"Brother Snow Leopard, slow down, wait for ."
Suo Wang was nearly at his limit; his legs felt like they were filled with lead, his pace visibly slowing down.
Mr. Lepus, in a rush, went over to him shouting, "Are you up to this or not, hurry up, it's a matter of life and death."
Unfortunately, Suo Wang didn't understand.
After being startled, Suo Wang looked up to see two Lynxes standing in front of him and recalled Chen Ying's words in his mind.
Tentatively, he called out, "Mr. Lepus? Little sister-in-law?"
Mr. Lepus was enraged; what ti was it to be exchanging pleasantries?
It lunged forward, reaching behind Suo Wang and began to push him from the back.
"Alright, alright, I'm going, I'm going. Isn't that enough?"
Suo Wang ca so close to a Lynx for the first ti that, surprised and delighted, he found new strength in his body and began to clamber up the mountain with renewed effort.
Mr. Lepus led him through twists and turns until they reached a cave.
The wailing of the Snow Leopard echoed.
Suo Wang switched on his camping lamp for a better look and let out a crude exclamation in shock.
