79: Chapter 79: I Won’t Let You Fall 79: Chapter 79: I Won’t Let You Fall “Third Brother, what did Sister Grace say?

Has she agreed to clear things up for ?” Grace Sumrs approached, asking eagerly.

Evan Sumrs shook his head, slowly lowering his gaze, his mood sowhat downcast.

“What?

She refused?”

Grace Sumrs cried out in agitation, her voice suddenly rising in pitch.

Evan Sumrs looked at Grace Sumrs skeptically.

In his mory, this little sister of his had always been obedient, sensible, and fragile.

He had almost never seen her show such a shocked and excited expression.

Realizing her own lapse, Grace Sumrs hurriedly adjusted her facial expression to take on the appearance of soone on the verge of tears.

“I’m sorry, Third Brother, I was just too surprised.

I thought that with Third Brother stepping in, Sister Grace would definitely do anything you asked, given how she’s always longed to talk more with you…”

Grace Sumrs stopped mid-sentence, her face showing a tily look of grievance, as if sothing very important had been taken from her.

But inside she was brimming with excitent.

Third Brother disliked Serena Sumrs the most.

As long as she showed that Serena Sumrs longed for closeness, Evan Sumrs would flare up like a lion riled up, burning with anger, and his dislike for Serena Sumrs would deepen.

“You’re saying that Serena Sumrs wanted to talk to in the past?” Evan Sumrs suddenly lifted his eyes, staring intently at Grace Sumrs.

Grace Sumrs’s mind went blank for a mont, unable to react.

In such situations, shouldn’t Third Brother be showing a face full of disdain and dislike, imdiately drawing a clear line with Serena Sumrs, swearing never to have more to do with her for the rest of his life?

Why wasn’t Third Brother showing any disgust this ti, but instead actively asking about Serena Sumrs?

“Grace, answer !”

Seeing Grace Sumrs standing there dumbfounded and silent, Evan Sumrs frowned and demanded, “What did you an by what you said just now?

Did Serena Sumrs often ntion before?”

Grace Sumrs didn’t understand what Evan Sumrs ant, but she still nodded and said, “Sister has always believed that I took away Mom, Dad, and my brothers from her.

I don’t bla her!”

Grace Sumrs lowered her head, wiping the tears from the corner of her eyes.

Evan Sumrs had a complex expression on his face.

He felt dizzy and weak in the knees.

“Grace, take a good rest.

I have sothing to do and need to leave.”

After dropping these words, Evan Sumrs quickly turned and left.

Grace Sumrs didn’t receive the comfort from Evan Sumrs but was t with the sight of his departing figure.

She was suddenly dumbfounded.

What was with Third Brother today?

Why was he acting so strangely?

Thinking back on how Evan Sumrs couldn’t stop ntioning Serena Sumrs, panic began to rise in Grace Sumrs’s heart.

After leaving Grace Sumrs’s bedroom, Evan Sumrs headed straight for the storeroom next door.

This was where Serena Sumrs had once lived.

The room Grace Sumrs now occupied used to be Serena Sumrs’s before she went missing.

After being brought back to the Sumrs Family, everyone doted on Grace Sumrs and couldn’t bear to move her out of her current room.

So, Serena Sumrs ended up moving into Grace Sumrs’s storeroom.

Upon entering the storeroom, Evan Sumrs was taken aback.

The entire room was narrow and spartan, roughly the size of his own bathroom.

There was hardly anything in the room, just a simple single wooden bed, a plain small wardrobe, and a small desk.

If Evan Sumrs rembered correctly, even the servants’ rooms in the Sumrs Family were better than this.

Evan Sumrs couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

After Serena Sumrs returned to the Sumrs Family, everyone was convinced that she was coveting Grace Sumrs’s position and possessions, so they all spoke harshly to her.

But, the Sumrs Family had given nothing to Serena Sumrs.

How desperate must one be, to decisively cut off ties with the Sumrs Family?

Evan Sumrs couldn’t bear to imagine.

Grace Sumrs originally wanted to ask what exactly happened to Evan Sumrs that afternoon.

But unexpectedly, Evan Sumrs had disappeared.

She stomped her foot in frustration and grabbed a servant to ask, “Do you know where my third brother went?”

The servant hesitated for a mont, then pointed towards Evan Sumrs’ room, saying, “The Third Young Master seed to have returned to his room and hasn’t co out since.”

Grace Sumrs’ frown deepened, and she hurried to knock on the door.

“Third brother, are you in there?”

There was no response from inside.

She instinctively turned the doorknob, trying to push the door open, but found that it was locked from the inside.

Looking at the closed door, Grace Sumrs suddenly had an ominous premonition.

At Shaw Mansion.

After Lucas Shaw returned to the mansion, a servant reported the incident of Evan Sumrs coming to find Serena Sumrs.

Lucas Shaw’s brow furrowed, and he asked with a grave tone, “Did Evan Sumrs co alone?

What did they talk about?”

A look of anger appeared on the servant’s face.

“The Sumrs Family really has no sha, the lady must have suffered a lot at the Sumrs Family!”

Lucas Shaw cast his gaze downward, his thin lips forming a tight line.

He didn’t say anything and directly started walking upstairs.

Serena Sumrs was sitting in front of a desk, typing on the keyboard, with lines of code flashing quickly across the computer screen.

Her fingers flew so fast that one could hardly see her movents.

She focused intently on the computer screen, but upon hearing footsteps outside the door, she quickly shut the computer and turned to look towards the doorway.

Seeing Lucas Shaw walk in, Serena Sumrs imdiately showed a bright, tender smile.

“Husband, you’re back from work?”

Serena Sumrs rose from her chair and ran towards Lucas Shaw.

Lucas Shaw paused slightly and instinctively opened his arms to catch the young girl who bumped into his chest, lifting her up and striding into the bedroom.

Suddenly being held in the way one would hold a child, Serena Sumrs’ fair face instantly turned red.

She instinctively wrapped her arms around the man’s neck, making sure she wouldn’t be dropped.

Sensing Serena Sumrs’ anxiousness, Lucas Shaw’s warm, broad palm gently soothed her back, comforting her, “Don’t be afraid, I won’t drop you.”

Serena Sumrs, with her face flushed red and her plump lips tightly pursed, let out a light huff, ignoring Lucas Shaw’s teasing.

It was only when he leaned down to place her steadily on the couch that Serena Sumrs looked up at him.

“What’s the matter?

Really scared?”

“Not at all!” Serena Sumrs huffed lightly, turning her head away from Lucas Shaw.

“Little thing, do you love getting angry so much?” Lucas Shaw’s lips curled up in pleasure, his large hand gently ruffling Serena Sumrs’ hair.

“Don’t be angry, be good.”

“I’m not angry,” Serena Sumrs said in a quiet defense.

She was just startled by the man’s sudden action.

The abrupt feeling of being lifted had almost made her throw a punch.

But luckily, she retracted her hand in ti to avoid landing her fist on Lucas Shaw’s delicate and profound face.

“I heard from the servant that Evan Sumrs ca to see you today?” Lucas Shaw sat next to Serena Sumrs, asking in a low voice.

“Yeah.”

“Did he co to seek rcy on behalf of Grace Sumrs’ fans?”

Lucas Shaw sat with a rigid, straight back, the dark depths of his eyes flickering with a dim, indiscernible light.

A bone-chilling coldness emanated from his presence.

“Sothing like that, but I didn’t agree to his request.

I’ve broken ties with the Sumrs Family; I have no obligation to help them.”
