Hearing the knock, Xu Ke was just about to get up.
"I'll get it!" Wang Wu stopped him.
Xu Ke could only nod helplessly.
Wang Wu opened the door. Standing outside was a young man, roughly eighteen or nineteen years old, with a backpack, thick glasses, and a head of ssy hair resembling a bird's nest.
Upon seeing the visitor, Wang Wu's expression changed. "Are you Pan Qi?" This isn't what Pan Qi looked like in my mory at all.
"Ah? Uncle Wu, hello!" The young man, as if snapping out of a daze, hastily bowed. "I'm not Pan Qi. I'm new to the squad this year and currently on a probationary period. My na is Feng Wei."
"You're Feng Wei?" Wang Wu's expression shifted. He had heard this na before.
Wang Wu didn't know what Feng Wei's specific role in the Wang Family Squad was. However, he did know that Feng Wei had been on the squad's probation list for a long ti. Because he was too blunt and tended to offend people, coupled with his thoughtless actions, he was still on probation to this day. If it weren't for his absolute loyalty to the Wang Family, Feng Wei would have been fired long ago.
"Yes. Uncle Wu, you know ?" Feng Wei chuckled, a hint of pride on his face.
But Wang Wu's face darkened. "What is Pan Qi doing? Why didn't he co himself?"
Feng Wei scratched his head. "Because Boss Deng said that sending the lowest-ranking team mber would be enough to handle the job in the urban village, so here I am..."
Upon hearing this, Wang Wu finally understood where Feng Wei's reputation for being blunt ca from. To think he would just state the squad's internal discussions so candidly. How could I not understand the implications of that?! Wang Wu was certain that everyone in the Wang Family Corporation's core knew exactly who lived in the urban village now.
Under such circumstances, they had only sent Feng Wei over, a clear sign of their disdain for Xu Ke.
Wang Wu's face grew grim. "Call your Boss Deng." He wanted to get an explanation for Xu Ke's sake.
Feng Wei was startled. "Boss Deng just went out to eat. He doesn't like us subordinates bothering him with calls."
Wang Wu was left speechless by the response. He said helplessly, "Just call. If he dares to question you, I'll back you up."
"Really?" Feng Wei asked again, still clearly worried.
Wang Wu was at a loss for words. Is this guy genuinely blunt or just infuriating?
But by this ti, Xu Ke, who had been inside, had overheard their conversation. Realizing sothing was wrong, he walked out. "Uncle Wu, what's going on?"
"Nothing," Wang Wu replied, not wanting Xu Ke to feel uncomfortable.
But Xu Ke imdiately sensed sothing was off, especially when Feng Wei's eyes lit up the mont he walked out. "Are you Xu Ke?!"
"Yes, hello," Xu Ke smiled.
"Hello!" Feng Wei returned the smile. "I've wanted to et you for a long ti."
Upon hearing this, Xu Ke and Wang Wu instinctively exchanged a glance.
Feng Wei continued, seemingly to himself, "I've seen Family Head Wang before, and I've always wondered what kind of man she would take an interest in, so I've always wanted to et you."
"I see," Xu Ke smiled.
Feng Wei then laughed and added, "You're much more handso in person than in your pictures. And the first ti I saw you, I thought you seed extraordinary, like you have a very enigmatic air about you. I think the people in our squad must have misjudged you."
Hearing this, Wang Wu's expression darkened. He decided to ignore Feng Wei's manner of speaking for the mont, but the insinuation was infuriating. I have to wonder, he thought, just how low has the family's opinion of Xu Ke fallen?
But Xu Ke's expression didn't change at all. He just smiled and said, "Whether they misjudge or not isn't important. Are you here to help with the computer issue?"
He didn't know that Feng Wei was just a naturally blunt person, but he was already ntally prepared for the Wang Family's low opinion of him. This was nothing.
Feng Wei nodded.
"Then co on in," Xu Ke said with a smile.
"Alright! Oh, I forgot to introduce myself! My na is Feng Wei!" Feng Wei added, bowing.
Xu Ke returned the bow. "Just call Xu Ke."
"Okay! Xu Ke!" Feng Wei nodded and then walked inside.
Wang Wu approached Xu Ke and frowned. "Mister Xu, he's the least skilled mber of our squad. It might be better to call Pan Qi over."
Hearing this, Xu Ke shook his head. "If they don't want to co, there's no need to force them."
At these words, Wang Wu gritted his teeth.

Xu Ke and Feng Wei sat on the sofa.
"You want to check if there's anything wrong with this USB drive, right?" Feng Wei asked, looking at Xu Ke.
Xu Ke nodded.
"Okay," Feng Wei said and then began working on the drive.
Xu Ke looked at Feng Wei's bird's nest hair and chuckled. "Why don't you wash your hair? You're quite handso. If you spruced up a bit, I think you'd attract a lot of young won."
Feng Wei had handso features; if he cleaned himself up, he could be quite the heartthrob.
But Feng Wei replied with a straight face, completely focused on his work, "If I wash my hair, it falls out. If I don't, it doesn't."
Xu Ke and Wang Wu were left speechless. The baffling logic left them both feeling a bit suffocated.
I've seen it all now, Xu Ke thought. This Feng Wei is really sothing else!

The check on the USB drive only took a few minutes. Feng Wei returned it to Xu Ke. "The files are fine. Everything's clean."
"Good. Thanks for your hard work." Xu Ke nodded. "What's your number? I'll add you."
"Sure," Feng Wei nodded.
After they exchanged contact information, Feng Wei briskly stood up. "Alright, Xu Ke, Uncle Wu, I have to get to my training class now. See you next ti."
Hearing this, Xu Ke was startled. "You're still in university?" He had assud everyone who joined the Wang Family Corporation had already graduated.
"No," Feng Wei shook his head. "I'm on my way to teach a class of university computer science students. It's a part-ti job I picked up."
Xu Ke looked at him in surprise. And this guy's skills are really considered the worst in the Wang Family Squad?

After Feng Wei left, Xu Ke finished organizing the evidence against Qian Hong and saved it to the drive.
Throughout the process, Wang Wu's face was etched with guilt. He felt deeply remorseful, not only for failing to summon Pan Qi but also for allowing the squad to indirectly humiliate Xu Ke once again.
Xu Ke noticed Wang Wu's somber expression. "Uncle Wu, don't overthink it. I've never had much status or wealth, so it's normal to be treated this way."
"But they have no idea what you've accomplished," Wang Wu said, a flicker of anger in his eyes.
Xu Ke's life-and-death battle with Ouyang Shuang had to remain a secret. So far, no one in the family knew that Xu Ke had killed an Innate Expert, except for a few core individuals.
"It's fine," Xu Ke smiled. "As long as their opinion of doesn't have any real effect, what does it matter?"
Wang Wu sighed. "But sooner or later, you will have to stand alongside the Young Miss and take command. If you don't start building your influence now, it'll be even harder to get them to obey you later."
Xu Ke shrugged. "It's fine. Standing behind Sister Wang is good too. Let's just focus on the task at hand and not waste energy chasing this down."
Hearing that, Wang Wu could only sigh and let it go. "Alright."
