Leng Yan kept silent, just gritting his teeth to endure the pain.
Seeing his stoic expression, Xia Nuo lightened her touch, “Hang in there; it’ll be fine soon.”
After applying the dication, she patted his head and smiled, coaxing him, “Sit down for a bit. As a reward, your sister will make you sothing delicious.”
“You’re not my sister.” Leng Yan suddenly retorted.
Xia Nuo felt a bit upset; she had always treated him like a little brother, yet he didn’t acknowledge her as his sister.
“Fine, fine, not if you say so. Who cares to be your sister anyway?” Miss Xia huffed in annoyance, getting up to head to the kitchen. As soon as she took a step, her hand was suddenly grabbed by him.
Leng Yan pursed his lips and whispered, “I didn’t an that… You’re very good to , I know… But we’re not actual siblings.”
Xia Nuo instantly bead, habitually patting his head, “Haha, I get it, I get it. No need to explain, look at you blushing.”
This boy must have never said anything embarrassing before; he looked so innocent.
Leng Yan, a bit embarrassed and annoyed, shook off her hand and turned his head away from her. Seriously, was he really that easy to embarrass?
After fiddling around in the kitchen for a while, Xia Nuo brought out a serving of strawberry ice cream.
“Eat up, I made it myself.” Actually, it was pretty simple; just mix strawberries and ice cream.
Leng Yan didn’t mind how the ice cream looked and started eating with a spoon.
Sitting across from him, Xia Nuo couldn’t help but ask, “You seem to really like eating.”
“Yeah.”
“Well, kids need to eat a lot to grow taller.”
Leng Yan glanced at her, “In two years, I’ll be taller than you.”
“Not necessarily!” Xia Nuo retorted defiantly.
Though she knew he was telling the truth. He was already quite tall for his age, and recently, it seed he’d grown even more, while she remained the sa height. At the rate he was growing, it wouldn’t take long for him to surpass her.
Ah, seeing the ‘child’ she raised grow taller and taller gave her such a comforting feeling.
Indeed, in Xia Nuo’s eyes, Leng Yan was just a child; she treated him like a little brother, even sowhat like a pet. Feeding him every day, she had a sense of pride that this child was raised by her.
Though she herself was just a kid, she thought of Leng Yan as the kid in front of her. If he knew her thoughts, he might never eat at her place again.
After finishing the ice cream, Leng Yan stood up to go ho, and Xia Nuo saw him to the door, reminding him worriedly, “If your hand hurts a lot, you have to tell , okay?”
“Okay.”
“Don’t do any housework at ho; wait until your hand is better. Otherwise, I can co over to help.”
