Chapter 30: A Shocking Result

Spiritual Roots could be nurous, and their quality could be poor—but they could not be absent.

As ti passed, among the several hundred disciples taking the entrance assessnt, nearly one-third were quickly forced to leave the Yunxia Sect because they had not reached the Spirit Stream Realm.

Among them, a small number were directly admitted into the inner sect due to the high quality of their Spiritual Roots.

For example, Xiao Hansheng turned out to possess dual Ice and Fire Spiritual Roots. Although it was not a single Spiritual Root, having two Spiritual Roots was already considered fairly good talent.

“What is going on? Why has it still not been my turn?” Ye Liuyun muttered impatiently.

She had been waiting for quite a while, yet her na had not been called.

She began to wonder whether the sect had forgotten her entirely because she had not participated in the sect’s activities over the past few years.

Sure enough, after the sect deacon finished reading the list of nas, he directly announced the end of the preliminary assessnt.

“All right, the preliminary assessnt is now complete. Next will be the combat assessnt. To allow the elders of the sect to better understand your abilities, the remaining two hundred disciples will participate in one-on-one arena matches. The winners will receive five hundred contribution points as a reward from the sect,” the sect deacon announced.

Ye Liuyun imdiately panicked and hurriedly shouted toward the deacon.

“Deacon, wait! What about ? Why is my na not on the list of participants?” Ye Liuyun called out loudly.

Beside her, Lin Aoxue also beca displeased. She had waited for so long, only to discover that the sect had forgotten Ye Liuyun entirely during the assessnt.

The mont Ye Liuyun spoke up, many people present revealed amused expressions.

How could they miss soone?

And the person they missed happened to be Lin Aoxue’s sister.

On the high platform, Yun Yun imdiately looked displeased and glanced toward a certain Outer Sect elder.

Missing a disciple was already careless, but the one they missed was Ye Liuyun. She did not want Lin Aoxue to think that the sect was deliberately targeting her sister again.

“Elder Yun Mu, what is going on? Why was soone omitted?” Yun Yun asked coldly.

The elder nad Yun Mu imdiately grew nervous when Yun Yun questioned him.

“I… I do not know either, Sect Master. I will check imdiately,” Yun Mu said as he hurriedly pulled out a list and examined it carefully.

After checking, he discovered that one disciple had never attended a single activity for entry disciples during the past three years.

These activities mainly referred to attending lectures at the Dao Lecture Hall.

Ye Liuyun had never attended even once. It was quite normal that she had been overlooked and forgotten. They had even thought that the disciple nad Ye Liuyu might have disappeared.

Of course, attending lectures was not strictly mandatory.

“Well… Sect Master, there is a disciple nad Ye Liuyu who has not participated in any entry disciple activities for three years. She may have been accidentally omitted during the registration of the assessnt,” Elder Yun Mu explained.

Yun Yun was briefly stunned before casually replying.

“Forget it. Go down and let her take the assessnt,” Yun Yun said. She did not want to be bothered by such a trivial matter.

Yun Mu nodded and flew down from the platform, landing beside the sect deacon who was still confused.

The deacon had been reviewing the list for quite so ti and had not noticed anyone missing.

However, judging by Ye Liuyun’s appearance, she was clearly an entry disciple of the sect. If her na was not on the list, it ant she had indeed been forgotten.

At that mont, Elder Yun Mu landed beside him. After glancing at Ye Liuyun, he whispered a few words to the deacon.

The deacon’s expression imdiately changed. He had not expected that this young girl had truly been forgotten.

After finishing his explanation, Yun Mu returned to the high platform.

The deacon then turned toward Ye Liuyun and could not resist scolding her.

“You are Ye Liuyu, correct? Where exactly have you been for the past three years? You have not participated in a single entry disciple activity. It is perfectly normal that people forgot about you,” the deacon complained.

As soon as those words were spoken, many of the surrounding disciples began laughing.

An entry disciple who never attended any of the entry disciple lessons for three years—this was truly strange.

“This junior sister is interesting. As an entry disciple, she never attended the entry disciple lessons. I am curious—where does she get the confidence to skip them?”

“Well, to be fair, this junior sister does seem to possess the strength of the Spirit Stream Realm. Perhaps she had already reached that realm while still in the mortal world, which is why she felt there was no need to attend the lessons.”

The crowd began whispering among themselves.

Ye Liuyun gave an awkward smile but did not explain anything.

Only Nalan Yan knew the truth—that Ye Liuyun had spent most of these years in the Alchemy Pavilion.

“All right, enough talking. Quiet down. Little girl, co up here. I would also like to see how much your strength has improved without attending the sect’s lessons,” the deacon said, gesturing for her to step onto the platform.

Hearing this, Ye Liuyun finally relaxed.

She grinned at Lin Aoxue before walking onto the assessnt platform.

“Co. Attack with your full strength. You only have one chance, so do not treat it lightly,” the deacon said.

Ye Liuyun nodded and stepped backward until she reached the edge of the arena.

Her spiritual power was extrely weak, only at the early Spirit Stream Realm. However, over the past three years, her physical strength had surpassed her spiritual power.

Her attack relied heavily on speed. Taking a running start would allow her strike to be stronger.

“Deacon, I am beginning,” Ye Liuyun said as a reminder.

The deacon nodded.

The mont he did, Ye Liuyun shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.

The distance of dozens of ters vanished in an instant. Her speed imdiately caught everyone’s attention.

“What incredible speed,” Yun Yun and the others exclaid in surprise.

Ye Liuyun pushed her speed to the limit and appeared directly in front of the deacon, striking him with a palm.

The deacon found it sowhat puzzling.

Although Ye Liuyun was extrely fast, the palm strike contained very little spiritual power.

Since there was no spiritual power involved, relying only on physical strength, he did not bother to raise any defense and simply used his own body to withstand the attack.

However, the deacon had clearly underestimated Ye Liuyun’s strike.

The mont her palm landed on his abdon, it directly caused his stomach to cave inward.

The deacon’s eyes bulged, his mouth opened wide, and his body instinctively bent forward. Clutching his stomach, he collapsed to the ground and began retching violently.

The entire Martial Arena fell silent.

This scene was even more unbelievable than Lin Aoxue’s earlier attack.

Lin Aoxue stared in disbelief.

“What the—? One palm strike knocked down a Dao Palace cultivator? That cannot be real!” Lin Aoxue was stunned.

In fact, everyone present was stunned. No one understood how Ye Liuyun had accomplished it.

The deacon continued gagging and retching for quite so ti before he finally began to recover.

“How is this possible? That palm clearly contained no spiritual power. Why did it produce such a terrifying force when it struck ?” the deacon asked in confusion while looking at Ye Liuyun.

Ye Liuyun herself was equally shocked. Judging from her expression, she had not expected such a result either.

“This is bad… Hey, Master, what is going on? Is he not a Dao Palace cultivator? How could he not even withstand one palm from ?” Ye Liuyun asked in astonishnt.

Lin Qingyou was also sowhat puzzled at first, but she quickly realized what had happened.

“Because your palm strength was not driven by Wheel Sea spiritual power. It was generated by the strength of your muscles and bones. Since the old fellow did not sense any fluctuation of power from you, he confidently chose to block it using only his physical body.”

“Furthermore, the Fallen Leaves Flying Flower Palm I taught you is a palm technique capable of penetrating defenses. It contains hidden force that ignores physical protection and delivers penetrating damage directly to the body,” Lin Qingyou explained.

In other words, if the deacon had activated his defensive barrier, he would have been completely fine.

He had simply been too confident.
