It was already 10 at night and there were almost no cars on the street nearby. Xia Ning went silent for a while and walked over.
“Thank you...” Before she could finish her words, she was interrupted.
“Get in the car.”
Xia Ning look at Qiao Yu and said with a frown, “I’m just here to say thank you. Now I’m done so I should go.”
“Is that your attitude to people who helped you?” Qiao Yu stared at Xia Ning and said unpleasantly.
Xia Ning sneered. “Huh, I didn’t beg you to help . Qiao Yu, why are you showing up in front of so often?” Suddenly she chuckled, and stared at the man in the car with her eyebrows moving, “Could it be that you fell in love with ?”
Qiao Yu’s pupils tightened. He turned his head to look to the front and said coldly, “You are over-thinking. I just don’t want anybody to know that my ex-wife got into the police station. That’s it.”
Chen Hong who was in the front opened his eyes wide. Gosh, what did he just hear? Ex-wife?! Boss’s Ex-wife?! So Xia Ning was the woman who took care of Boss and gave birth to his son?
Xia Ning smiled slightly. “It couldn’t be better if President Qiao thinks that way. But your concern seems unnecessary. As far as I know, no outside person knows you had been married before.”
She stepped back slightly and said coldly, “If President Qiao is afraid that your previous marriage would be exposed, the best way is to not contact anymore in the future.”
Qiao Yu’s face was a bit sulky. He said coldly, “Your negative news seems to be a bit too much lately.”
“What does it have to do with you! Qiao Yu, I admit that I tricked you when I was after you. But now I regret. If everyone has to pay for their mistake, I obviously have paid mine. What else do you want? Are you looking for compensation? You must be f*cking crazy!” Xia Ning got a bit agitated.
Qiao Yu stared at her and said coldly, “What did you say? Say it again.”
Xia Ning smirked. “If you don’t like it, go the hell away! President Qiao, when did you start to settle for less?!”
Qiao Yu’s face turned dark. The atmosphere was getting cold. His hand reached out to the lock and was ready to open the door.
Just at that mont, Xia Ning’s phone rang. She picked it up directly.
“Hello, Brother Zheng. Oh, I’m at the police station. I’m fine now. No need to pick up. Ah, are you already here?”
Xia Ning looked around and saw the light near the crossing ahead. A car was approaching. She said to Qiao Yu with a frown, “See, soone’s picking up. No need to trouble you, President Qiao.”
The temperature in the car was even colder. Qiao Yu looked at her deeply for a mont, turned to the front and said, “Drive!”
Chen Hong felt a chill and glanced at Boss. This was his first ti seeing Boss so upset. He started the car and drove away.
Seeing the car leaving, Xia Ning frowned a little and felt sowhat relaxed.
And then, a Maserati stopped right next to her.
Zheng Haodong rolled down the window and looked at Xia Ning. He said with a smile, “Get in.”
Xia Ning glanced around. At this ti of the night, it was obviously very difficult to get a cab.
She got in the back seat and buckled up. She then turned to Zheng Haodong and said with a smile, “Thank you, Brother Zheng!”
“If I did not run into your assistant accidentally, I wouldn’t have known what happened.” Zheng Haodong blad Xia Ning. “You should let her contact earlier for this kind of stuff.”
Xia Ning replied with a smile, “Good news never leaves the door while the bad ones travel fast. To save my face, I would not tell that to anybody.”
“I thought we are friends already after working together for such a long ti.” Zheng Haodong sounded a little helpless.
Xia Ning’s lips moved slightly. “It’s actually not that bad. I’ve found a lawyer.” But he had not arrived yet. And Qiao Yu’s arrival was indeed unexpected.
“You gotta be careful handling this. The public relations people on Li Shanshan’s team are very good.” Zheng Haodong said with a serious face, “I’m guessing tomorrow, the news of you in the police station will be all over the entertainnt circle.”
Xia Ning twitched the center of her eyebrows. “I know.”
