Davis watched her go upstairs, his shoulders sagging with relief. He rubbed his brow. He had walked over to her just in hope of stopping her from getting a glimpse of the docunt.

The situation last night had gone beyond his expectations. By the ti he returned from the club last night, Jessica was already a disheveled ss.

She was sitting upright on the bed, her head tightly clasped in her hands, her body riddled with sweat, so strands of her hair falling across her face, sticking to her forehead, her eyes hollow and unfocused.

She was a ss.

Davis's heart stopped, he couldn't help imagining the worst-case scenario. From his discussion with Richard, he couldn't rule out the idea of Jessica trying to trigger her mory herself.

To minimize the damage, he had called over the Dean, who ca and administered her with sedatives to calm her nerves and reduce the stress on her brain.

And through the night, he had kept vigil, watching over her. To erase everything that happened, he had to remake the bed, keeping it clean.

Unbeknownst to him, Jessica had assud he never returned.

"You can finish up the rest." Davis said to Ethan, who nodded silently.

Taking the staircase, he made his way to the nursery.

anwhile, Jessica returned to the bedroom and settled down on the bed. She couldn't shake the feeling gnawing at her.

Davis was probably hiding sothing from her, but whatever he was hiding seed to have a link to her.

But recalling the exhaustion etched across his features, she sighed deeply. "I guess I have to do sothing about it," she muttered before heading straight for a bath.

By the ti Davis returned from the nursery, she was already set for the day. Rather than the tired and worn-out fra, she looked more lively.

"I…I have an appointnt with my…with Ju…Julian." Jessica stuttered.

Davis raised a brow, she took a deep breath and continued. "To visit my mother."

Davis nodded. "We go together," he answered.

"Ahh!" Jessica stared at him in surprise.

"Have we…" but she stopped herself mid-sentence.

"You don't worry, we've always gone there together."

Jessica's eyes lit up. "When was the last ti I was there?"

"A few days before the accident, you had gone there to tell her about the kids and the Santiagos' welcoming banquet," he said.

She felt an unusual relief washing over her. If it was because he had accompanied her in the past or the suggestion to go with her, it didn't matter.

"Babe, after the visit…we are going to the hospital," Davis said.

Jessica's hand subconsciously clenched by her side. "Hospital?" she said, already feeling weary.

Her thoughts raced, recalling the ntion of a therapist monts ago, a bitter smile curling up her lips.

"Had he already grown tired of her mory loss?" she mused, but on a second thought, she braced herself.

"Why go to the hospital? It's not the date for my check-up?" she asked.

Davis exhaled sharply, he slowly took her hand in his and led her over to the bed. Sitting down, he pulled her to sit on his lap. "Babe, Richard told about it."

Her gaze snapped to him. "He…did?"

Davis nodded, he would just have told her, he wanted to, but he was afraid she would feel insecure or pressured.

After thinking about it, he had decided to take the easiest step, tell her the truth and see if that's what she really wanted.

Seeing her dazed, "Babe, do you know it doesn't matter how long it takes to recover your mory, and I never care about that…but then if you must trigger your mory…I prefer we go to the hospital, adopt a safer thod."

Jessica took a deep breath, montarily closing her eyes. She would have accepted that it doesn't matter, but for her, it's so important.

By the ti she opened her eyes again, they were glazed with fierce determination. "I want my mory, no matter the cost."

Davis shook his head. "With your health involved, it's not going to be at any cost. We can only do it in a way to keep you in one piece."

Jessica nodded. As long as the slightest opportunity was given, she was very grateful.

~Hospital~

After the visit with Julian to the cetery, Jessica and Davis returned to the hospital. As the car pulled to a stop in the parking lot, Jessica sighed deeply.

Davis glanced at her with worry etched on his face. "Are you sure you want to go about this?" he asked again.

Jessica nodded firmly. "Yes, I want to give it a try," she said, a warm smile plastering her face.

Davis sighed helplessly as he pulled her into his embrace, softly patting her back. "If you cannot, don't force yourself."

"I know."

Davis slowly let her go. Though he was afraid of what the outco might be, she had made her decision, and he could only do little by supporting her.

Decisively, he pushed the door open and stepped down, holding his hand to her, he helped her out, and they both made their way into the hospital.

The Dean was already waiting for them before their arrival. As they stepped into his office, he stood and welcod them.

"Mr. Allen, Mrs. Allen," he greeted warmly, extending his hand. His voice was calm and firm.

From all indications, he must have been as prepared as they were. "Thank you for coming. Please, sit."

Davis and Jessica settled into the seat before his large table, Jessica's hand still clasped in his. He exhaled sharply, his gaze on the Dean. "Like we discussed…."

The Dean nodded. "With every possible complication taken into consideration, we've prepared everything for today's session."

Jessica's hand tightened slightly against Davis's than she realized, her palm slightly damp. The Dean's eyes softened as they lingered on her face, sensing the storm within.

"Though we've chosen to take this step, I would like to say," he continued, his tone almost fatherly, "you can still change your mind and let it take a natural course."

Jessica lifted her gaze, eting the Dean's kind eyes, then Davis's unwavering ones.

Her heart thudded painfully, but she forced a small nod. "I…I know, but I choose this path. I just want to rember, and whatever chances are at my disposal, I prefer to utilize."

The Dean's gaze darted between her and Davis. Seeing him give a small nod of support, he sighed.

"Alright. We already have a team on ground…your psychiatrists, therapists, and neurologists…are all here to walk this path with you, step by step."

"And should you begin to feel uncomfortable, please notify early. No one will push you beyond what you can bear," the Dean concluded.

Davis gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, his voice low but steady. "You don't have to do this if you're not ready. Don't bear it silently when uncomfortable."

Jessica gave a weak smile and a curt nod. "I understand," she murmured.

"Any questions before we go?" his gaze darting between them.

Seeing they both shook their heads unanimously, he smiled.

The Dean inclined his head with respect. "Alright." He stood up. "Please, follow ."

Together, they left his office, stepping into the wide corridor with muted lights, faint scent of antiseptic lingering in the air reminding Jessica of how much she avoided the hospital unless tied to her profession.

Each step Jessica took echoed with a mix of fear and determination.

At the end of the hall, the Dean paused before a large double door. Slowly, he turned around to et Jessica's eyes.

"We're here."

With a unanimous nod, he pushed the door open.
