In the midst of the storm, the phone suddenly rang. Qiao Mo, with tear-filled eyes, looked at the unknown number on the screen and slowly answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Where are you?"

As soon as she heard Fu Nancheng’s voice, Qiao Mo’s emotions flared up again: "I don’t want you to care! I don’t want your hypocritical kindness! I hate you! Fu Nancheng, I hate you!"

Fu Nancheng felt a pain in his heart but said gently, "Be good, tell where you are."

Listening to his low and gentle voice, Qiao Mo felt even more aggrieved, and the tears she just managed to hold back fell once again: "Why do this to ? Why are you treating like this..."

"I hate you... I hate you!"

"..."

He let her curse for a while, fearing the thunderstorm that could hit at any mont. Fu Nancheng, unable to set his mind at ease, spoke again: "Be good, first tell where you are."

As if a lot of the pent-up grievances had been vented, under his steady voice, she finally cald down a bit.

She looked around, finding everything was pitch black, with not a single car on the road. It was so eerie and unfamiliar that it made her even more scared.

"Where are you?"

"I don’t know..."

"Did you turn after getting out of the car?"

"I don’t rember." Qiao Mo thought for a mont but could not recall anything.

"Be good, what do you see in front of you?" Fu Nancheng asked again, patiently.

Qiao Mo turned her head to look forward, sniffled, and choked up: "The road."

"What about behind you?"

"Also the road."

"What else is around you?"

"Trees."

"..."

A few sweatdrops ford on Fu Nancheng’s forehead. Fortunately, the rain had subsided a bit. Listening to the pattering rain sounds over the phone, he still gently said: "Stay there, I’ll co find you."

"Mmm." Qiao Mo responded softly.

After that, he didn’t speak again but also didn’t hang up the phone. Because there was no more thunder, he just kept holding the phone. Occasionally, when he saw so signs on the road, he would ask her a few questions. For a mont, the anxiety in Qiao Mo’s heart seed to dissipate a little.

"Sir, could that be Miss Qiao?"

The driver, who was also looking around, suddenly spoke with a bit of delight. Following his gaze, Fu Nancheng saw a slender figure hugging her knees on the side of the brightly lit road, under a dim street lamp, enveloping her figure in the cold night, making her even more pitiful.

The car quickly stopped near Qiao Mo, and Fu Nancheng got out with a hint of urgency.

Qiao Mo was soaked, her hair sticking wetly to her face. Staring at the various puddles on the ground, her eyes were red and she didn’t make a sound.

Until a pair of shiny black shoes entered her sight, Qiao Mo looked up, following the water-stained pant legs, and happened to look into his deep black eyes. Her nose tingled, and tears silently welled up again.

If it weren’t for this man, she wouldn’t be in such a miserable state.

Seeing her tears quickly overflow and mix with the rain on her cheeks, he frowned slightly, but as if afraid to further startle her, gently said, "Get in the car."

Qiao Mo withdrew her gaze, still hugging her knees and refusing to get up, her eyes red, staring motionlessly at the water stains on the ground.

Before she could react, she fell into a warm embrace. Fu Nancheng picked her up, and the driver tactfully got out of the car to open the door.

"Let go, you bastard!"

"Still throwing a tantrum, hmm?" Fu Nancheng spoke gently, with a hint of a sigh, making Qiao Mo feel sowhat disoriented.
