After finishing her al, Qiao Mo tidied up a bit and went out, planning to go to the hospital for a prenatal check-up by herself.
Once she was ready, Qiao Mo hailed a cab, politely refusing the driver’s offer to accompany her, and went directly to the hospital she had prearranged.
What she didn’t expect was that as soon as she got out of the car, she ran into soone she knew.
Jiang Jinghao happened to get out of a car on the opposite side of the street, with a road separating them.
He was dressed in a beige suit, looking stronger than during his hospital stay. He still exuded the fresh and clean aura of a mountain breeze, but unlike in the past, he now had a certain maturity and determination.
He also happened to see Qiao Mo, standing still and looking at her in a daze.
Qiao Mo was the first to co back to her senses, giving him a slight smile as a way of greeting.
After so hesitation, Qiao Mo walked towards the opposite side of the road, because the hospital was behind Jiang Jinghao, and the taxi had dropped her off on the other side of the street.
Vehicles stread across the road, occasionally blocking his figure.
In just a few monts, Qiao Mo was standing in front of him.
His gaze fell on Qiao Mo, examining this woman he hadn’t seen in a long ti, with a touch more gentleness in his eyes: "Xiao Mo, long ti no see."
"Yes, long ti no see."
After speaking, they both fell silent. In just a few short months, it felt as if they had been through over a decade, making them seem distant.
Qiao Mo looked at him and proactively asked, "What brings you here?"
"Well, I ca to visit Aunt Lan at the hospital. Ever since dad and mom passed away, her health hasn’t been good, so she’s recuperating here."
Qiao Mo nodded: "I also ca to the hospital for a check-up, didn’t expect to run into you."
His gaze fell on her slightly protruding belly. She was wearing a light pink outfit, form-fitting enough to easily show that her belly was much bigger than before.
His gaze was sowhat unfocused, and he softly said, "You’re pregnant?"
Qiao Mo showed a faint smile, habitually touching her belly: "Yes, almost five months now. I’m here for a prenatal check-up today."
Jiang Jinghao was silent for a mont before asking again, "Where’s Fu Nancheng?"
Qiao Mo smiled at him: "He seems to have a eting today, he’s quite busy."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Jinghao slightly furrowed his brows: "Too busy to even accompany you for a prenatal check-up?"
Qiao Mo was montarily speechless, the smile on her face turning a bit awkward, and she lowered her eyes: "I didn’t tell him, it’s not his fault."
Anger flashed in Jiang Jinghao’s eyes as he coldly chuckled: "Your belly is already this obvious, how else do you need to tell him?"
"Alright, aren’t you going to see Aunt Lan? I’ll join you." Qiao Mo tried to change the subject, and with that, she turned and headed towards the hospital.
Jiang Jinghao quickly caught up, a trace of coldness lingering in his eyes.
Once inside the elevator, Qiao Mo secretly glanced at the man beside her.
He seed different from before. He appeared to have gained a touch of sharpness and maturity and wasn’t as gentle and sunny as he used to be. Even his gaze seed to have grown more complex.
Retracting her gaze, she let out a soft sigh.
If it weren’t for her, he probably wouldn’t have turned out this way.
Accompanying him to see Aunt Lan, the sight was of her in a gray-white hospital gown, looking sowhat haggard.
However, her ntal state seed alright. When she saw Qiao Mo and Jiang Jinghao appear together, she was montarily taken aback.
"Aunt Lan, how have you been? I just heard you were unwell, so I didn’t have ti to get anything, just wanted to visit you first." Qiao Mo sat by the bed and began speaking gently.
