There’s a saying that goes... no rest for the wicked.

Well, in the Spanish La Liga this season, if there was any wicked, then it had to be Real Madrid and Barcelona.

I an, how can you play 22 consecutive gas and not lose a single one?

Do you want to do an Arsenal Invincibles in La Liga? And to think that both clubs were gunning for the record at the sa ti.

If that was not wicked, then nothing else was.

And since they were the wicked, there was no rest for them. The calendar had no rcy on big clubs and hence why squad depth is so important.

Both clubs were scheduled to play two league gas in six days.

Two stadiums, two storms, and one impossible demand: perfection.

Barcelona and Real Madrid stared at the schedule and felt the weight of history weight down on them. Fatigue burned their muscles, but the race at the summit left no room to stumble.

They would not give up, and so, they had to fight.

FWEEE!

The ga started and from the first whistle, the Basque crowd whistled every Barcelona touch, their chants echoing like thunder.

If they could, they wanted to drag Barcelona down with just their voices.

Barcelona’s legs were heavy. The bruises from La Cerámica still lingered. For long stretches, the ga was a slug-fest with Real Sociedad pressing, suffocating, and forcing Sam deeper and deeper.

Barcelona were actually forced on the backfoot for long stretches of the ga as they defended against waves of Real Sociedad attacks.

Real Sociedad were caught offside 8 tis in the first half alone!

When the final whistle eventually blew, Barça’s bench erupted. It wasn’t beautiful, but it was enough.

Muscles scread, ice baths stung, and rotations lood. Coaches whispered about minutes, recovery, and nutrition.

Hansi Flick took it a step further as he stamped down on the personal life of the players. No excessive partying, no late night clubs, no alcohol.

Well, since Sam never did all these in the first place, he was not part of the players that the coach blasted.

As all these happened, the calendar rolled forward rcilessly.

The league burned hotter than ever before.

History beckoned.
