Bang!

The mont the match began, Raian Kure kicked off the ground with one foot and charged straight at Jaden, laughing wildly.

He was fast.

Very fast.

But Jaden didn't move.

He stood there, perfectly still, his eyes locked on Raian Kure.

To be honest, among the Kengan matches Jaden had participated in so far, there were quite a few fighters who rushed in the mont the bell rang.

Takeshi Wakatsuki did that.

Ohma Tokita did it too.

Usually, a frontal charge like this would be followed by a jab, or-

Jaden's thoughts stopped abruptly.

Because Raian Kure was different.

Completely different.

Raian was a mber of the Kure Clan. There was no way he didn't know martial arts.

And yet-

The mont he closed in, Raian didn't assu any stance at all.

Instead, relying purely on speed, he swung a high, wide kick straight toward Jaden's head.

This...

With Jack Hanma's mories, Jaden instantly recognized it.

There was a shadow of street fighting in that kick.

No concern for the structure of modern martial arts.

No regard for joints, posture, or refined power transfer found in ancient styles.

Just the most primitive form of violence.

A pure physical attack.

Entirely dependent on raw bodily ability.

He's extrely confident in his physical power.

With that thought, Jaden responded.

He raised his leg.

And delivered an equally high kick-aid straight at Raian Kure's head.

The mont Jaden chose that response, several fighters in the audience froze.

Karura and Kure Fuki both widened their eyes.

Even Erioh Kure, standing beside tsudo Katahara, frowned.

"Jaden..."

"Is he underestimating Raian?"

Raian had the montum advantage from his charge.

Jaden, on the other hand, was kicking from a standstill.

And Raian Kure wasn't soone you could judge by the standards of an ordinary fighter.

He was a natural-born monster.

Just as that thought crossed Erioh's mind-

Jaden's raised calf collided with Raian Kure's raised calf.

Bang!

It wasn't a stalemate.

And it wasn't Jaden who suffered.

Instead-

Raian Kure was blasted backward.

His forward-shifted center of gravity was completely disrupted.

The impact sent him rolling across the arena floor before he finally managed to stabilize himself.

As Raian squatted low and slowly stood back up, he noticed sothing.

-His calf was already swelling.

"...So you do have so skill."

Raian straightened his body.

Despite the injury, there was no pain on his face.

If anything, he looked happier.

His laughter grew louder.

Jaden blinked once as Raian charged again.

This ti, Raian planted his feet firmly and transferred half his body's force into his arm, swinging a wide, circular punch toward Jaden's face.

The force behind it was terrifying.

But Jaden didn't dodge.

He didn't defend.

He simply clenched his fist.

And the mont Raian's punch ca in-

Jaden's punch went out.

Thud!

Raian's fist landed first.

But the instant it struck Jaden's face, Raian felt sothing wrong.

It felt like hitting cotton.

No-

Like hitting a feather.

His power was being neutralized.

Completely.

Less than half a second later-

Jaden's fist slamd into Raian Kure's face.

This punch wasn't like the kick from before.

Last ti, Raian hadn't expected to be the one sent flying.

This ti, he was prepared.

He raised his arm to block and forcibly lowered his center of gravity.

Even so-

The instant Jaden's fist landed on his arm, Raian was still sent sliding backward.

His feet carved two long trails through the dust of the arena.

The dust rose.

Jaden stood within it.

He had no guard stance.

His hands hung loosely at his sides as he walked out of the dust cloud toward Raian Kure.

"If you truly don't know any martial arts, then ignore what I'm about to say."

"But as a mber of the Kure Clan-if you've learned martial arts-then I suggest you use everything you've learned."

Raian Kure straightened up slowly.

Jaden stopped a short distance away.

"Your physical ability is impressive."

"Your resistance to damage is high."

"You probably have a strong tolerance for pain as well."

Jaden's tone remained flat.

"But that's all."

He stopped completely.

"I'll advise you one last ti."

"Or rather, I'm only saying this once-because you're a mber of the Kure Clan."

Jaden's calm expression.

His indifferent gaze.

The way his eyes didn't even seem to acknowledge Raian's existence.

Combined with those words-

The veins on Raian Kure's body began to bulge.

Then ca the final sentence.

"-Raian Kure."

"Don't invite death."

"Hah-!"

Raian Kure completely lost it.

He roared.

Killing intent exploded from his body, almost like visible flas wrapping around him.

Purple, vein-like patterns began to crawl across his skin.

His aura surged violently.

-Kure Clan Secret Technique: Removal.

"You're the one..."

Raian vanished.

He rushed forward at terrifying speed, fists swinging wildly.

Still no martial arts stance.

Just a posture optimized for maximum output.

Punch after punch rained toward Jaden.

"...who shouldn't get carried away over a trivial achievent!"

The speed of Raian's fists surpassed what the naked eye could track.

Jaden raised both arms.

Indestructible-Tekkai.

Raian's punches drove him backward step by step.

But no matter how many blows landed-

They couldn't break through.

Finally, under Raian's full-power strike, Jaden was forced back a certain distance.

Raian exhaled sharply.

So of the earlier rage seed to have vented.

He looked at Jaden, who lowered his arms, and laughed smugly.

"This is no longer a fight."

"What I enjoy isn't 'fighting.'"

"It's unilateral annihilation."

As he spoke, Raian lowered his center of gravity.

His hands slowly closed, as if gripping sothing invisible.

"Co on."

"I'll annihilate you too."

The fighting spirit around him surged once more.

Jaden looked at Raian Kure.

Then he lowered his own center of gravity.

And took a guard stance.

-So this is the Kure Clan's Removal.

I thought the Removal used by Horio Kure and Karura was already near the limit.

I didn't expect Raian's level to be this high.

No wonder he was confident enough to ignore martial arts entirely.

With this kind of power-

That confidence made sense.

Heh.

I was just starting to think this tournant was getting boring.

But now-

-It's finally becoming interesting.
