He saw graceful arcs drawn across the sky, dozens of black shells streaking over their heads, crashing down from the sky.

"Mortar attack! Defense!" Bode shouted imdiately, his heart rate starting to accelerate.

But these suddenly fired mortars did not fall on their position; instead, they landed below.

The destination was right at the sand bandits below!

Boom boom boom!

Bode’s eyes filled with the roaring sound of explosions, flas scorching everything, the violent blasts almost tearing the sky apart!

In an instant, the explosion inflicted heavy casualties on the ard personnel below. Although they wore bulletproof vests to protect against bullets, they couldn’t guard against mortars!

Bode and his subordinates stared blankly at the battlefield of explosions below.

The mortars ca from far behind them; they were clueless about who fired them.

But at that mont, Bode saw the desperate Ard Captain fleeing, looking up to spot them, shouting sothing loudly.

At this mont, the sense of foreboding surged in Bode’s heart, a crisis enveloping his heart. In the confusion, he understood sothing briefly, damn it.

They seed to be taking the bla for soone else!

Sure enough, in the next second, dense bullets from the sand bandits and ard personnel below rained down on them.

Several mbers of the security team were caught off guard, instantly shot full of holes.

"Damn! Don’t shoot, don’t fucking shoot! Hide!" Absolutely no shooting, because firing now would definitely trigger a chain reaction, possibly causing unnecessary firefight!

Bode had a feeling he was being used; instinctually, he knew not to fire.

But the people below didn’t care about any of that.

...

Bill Hawke was already determined that the attack’s shellfire ca from the nearby dunes, likely from the Apocalypse Society.

A hissing sound erupted from Bill Hawke’s throat: "Suppressing fire, hit them hard!"

"Lang Liefeng, gather all your n to take out these Apocalypse Society people!"

Lang Liefeng, in a panic, drew a signal flare from his waist and fired it into the sky, signaling the entire village of an enemy attack.

The sand bandits poured out in droves.

Under Bill Hawke’s command, the bandits and the convoy’s ard personnel launched intense suppressive fire towards the enemy above.

The opponents had mortars; why wouldn’t they?

Bill Hawke organized his n to suppress with firepower while instructing others to retreat behind the village to set up mortar fire points.

Take it to the teeth!

Bill Hawke also felt sothing weird; although the enemy had bombed them, causing dozens of casualties, they didn’t raise their heads under their suppressive fire.

Although he was unsure of the enemy’s objective, the blood of dead brothers stained his eyes.

Bill Hawke’s fury demanded vengeance.

Organize everyone for a swift counterattack!

Boom boom boom!

Several mortars fell precisely on the dunes, exploding violently.

Amid the burst of firelight, blood splattered!

"Suppress it all, damn it, press on and kill those bastards!"

Bill Hawke’s command left the second-in-command sand bandit bewildered; the second-in-command and his relatives were uncertain and hesitant.

"Second-in-command, should we still resist?"

The second-in-command sand bandit, Skinning Knife, was also utterly bewildered, having already beco a believer in the Apocalypse Society. This ti, he planned to cooperate with the Society for a coordinated effort to take away the batch of munitions.

They had agreed beforehand that when the Apocalypse Society launched the attack, he would be notified in advance.

So facilitating a coordinated attack.

Yet now the attack was sudden, entirely without the agreed signal.

This isn’t right, is it?

Could it be the attackers weren’t from the Apocalypse Society?

If not the Society, then who?

Without seeing the signal, Skinning Knife dared not act rashly, fearing he’d botch the Church’s major operation. Hesitating for a mont, he said to his brothers: "Sothing’s wrong; let them charge ahead and we’ll shoot from behind. Until my signal, let’s not betray."

Skinning Knife had long convinced his confidants to prepare a coup against Lang Liefeng.

After all, that guy hogged the at, leaving only scraps for the brothers.

Every ti they captured beautiful won, he enjoyed them alone, only letting the brothers play with the leftovers after he’d tired of them.

Over ti, nurous brothers held grievances.

Skinning Knife seized the chance to incite, planning to overthrow Lang Liefeng and beco the head.

It would also help the Apocalypse Society seize the batch of arms, a win-win situation.

But who knew plans couldn’t keep up with changes?

How did this happen?

Now they could only play it by ear.

...

"Sir! Aren’t we firing yet? These guys seem to think we’re the ones who fired the mortars, and they’ve already pressed on! Sir!"

Fang Jinpeng ducked behind the brake, constantly evading gunfire, urgently questioning Bode.

Bode gritted his teeth; the mortars ca from behind them, clearly a setup, with ard personnel behind them; if they engaged the sand bandits ahead.

They would likely be exploited by those behind.

He ordered to hold fire, not resist, hoping the other side would realize.

But obviously, with so many casualties, how could Bill Hawke think of such things?

If one were sane, they’d avoid taking such a gamble.

"Sir, these guys now firmly believe we fired first. Even if we don’t shoot, they might not understand us; and even we can’t afford to gamble! Sir, we’ve lost more than ten brothers!" Erin’s voice completely tore down the defenses within Bode’s heart.

"Damn it! Give them face, they don’t want it; kill them all!"
