‘Just when you fear sothing, it happens.’ Song Qingshu inwardly smiled bitterly. But he soon realized sothing was off—Uncle Tang Kuo? He looked up in surprise to find a charming young girl standing before him, gazing at him with a playful smile.

It was none other than Wanyan Chongjie.

Noticing the murderous glares from the surrounding n, Song Qingshu couldn’t help but feel amused. No wonder they were so furious—he had already married the most beautiful woman in the Jin Dynasty, and now the future most beautiful woman of Jin was approaching him of her own accord. How could they not be enraged?

But why was Chongjie seeking him out? Though unwritten, it was customary for unmarried partners to dance with the unmarried, and married ones with their spouses. She clearly knew Tang Kuo Bian was married—with his wife right beside him! Was it really appropriate for her to co over and invite him so boldly?

Song Qingshu was tempted to accept—not because dancing with a beautiful girl would be romantic, but because he was curious why this girl always seed to have it out for him. They had no past grievances or recent conflicts.

‘Did Tang Kuo Bian bully her in the past? So cliché ‘love and abandonnt’ trope?’ Song Qingshu’s mind even conjured scenes from third-rate romance dramas he’d seen in his past life, but he quickly dismissed the idea. After all, he had a strange sense of familiarity with Chongjie—they must have t sowhere before. Yet, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t recall where.

Though he wanted to take the chance to interact with her and probe for answers, he knew his limits. He had no idea how to dance in the Jurchen style—one misstep, and his cover would be blown.

“What’s wrong, Uncle Tang Kuo? Do you dislike Chongjie?” The girl clasped her hands behind her back and leaned forward, looking utterly adorable.

“Uh…” Just as Song Qingshu was struggling to find a way to refuse, Gebi, standing beside him, chuckled and spoke up: “You mischievous girl, go find so other young man. Your Uncle Tang Kuo belongs to —if he’s dancing with anyone, it should be .”

Turning to Song Qingshu with a radiant smile, she added, “Right, husband?” Song Qingshu nodded dumbly as Gebi took his hand and pulled him toward the dance floor, leaving Chongjie stomping her feet in frustration.

“Chongjie, why don’t we dance together?” A young man who had been eyeing her eagerly stepped forward.

“Get lost!” The girl spat coldly, not even glancing at him before turning to leave.

The boy was imdiately mocked by his peers. Watching Chongjie’s graceful retreating figure, he seethed with a mix of love and hate, muttering under his breath, “Hmph, acting like so innocent maiden. With a mother like hers, how good can the daughter be?”

“But let’s not forget how many ‘godfathers’ she has. Few in the capital dare to ss with her,” another companion snickered.

“Don’t be sour just because you can’t have her. Chongjie isn’t like her mother—have you ever heard of her being close to any man?” Another, likely one of her admirers, instinctively defended his dream girl.

“Hmph, maybe you just don’t know. Who’s to say she isn’t secretly seducing n left and right? Didn’t she just throw herself at that Tang Kuo guy?” The first boy sneered.

“…”

Overhearing their conversation, Song Qingshu frowned slightly. He hadn’t expected Chongjie, who seed so cheerful on the surface, to carry such hidden pain. He wondered just what kind of person her mother was, judging by the boys’ words.

“What are you thinking about?” Gebi’s soft voice brought him back to the present.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Song Qingshu smiled faintly. “I was thinking how, as the elder, you’re actually jealous of a junior.”

“That’s not true!” Gebi’s cheeks flushed. “I was just… just…”

“Just what?” Song Qingshu asked reflexively.

“Nothing.” She shook her head slightly and took his hand. “Let’s dance.”

Song Qingshu inwardly panicked—he had no idea how to dance! Wouldn’t he expose himself imdiately?

In that split second, an idea struck him.

Perhaps it was because of his dual soul that his ntal power was much greater than that of ordinary people. There was also a theory that the various secret scriptures enhanced the comprehensive abilities of the user. And Song Qingshu had 3 of them!

Anyways, no matter the reason, it was clear that he could learn martial arts much quicker than others, sotis at a glance. And now, it also allowed him to quickly mimick the dance movents. Though he lacked the finer nuances, his rough imitation was enough to get by in a pinch.

Gebi was surprised to see him dancing so competently. She had expected him to be completely clueless.

“Well? Not bad for your husband, right?” If not for Tang Kuo Bian’s face covering his own, Song Qingshu would never have had the nerve to perform such an embarrassing dance.

Seeing his smug expression, Gebi felt the gloom in her heart inexplicably lift. She burst into laughter but quickly covered her mouth with her hand. The contrast between her fair, delicate fingers and her rosy lips painted an enchanting picture. “Where did you learn this? The form is similar, but your rhythm is all wrong. Follow —I’ll teach you.”

Holding his hand, she guided him step by step as they danced slowly in a corner.

Breathing in Gebi’s faint fragrance, Song Qingshu grew wary. Why isn’t she reacting to the fact that I can’t dance? Did Tang Kuo Bian not know how to dance either?

This seed the only plausible explanation, and he let out a quiet sigh of relief. ‘All that worry for nothing. I should’ve just admitted it from the start.’

Under Gebi’s expert guidance, Song Qingshu improved rapidly, their movents growing more and more synchronized. After so ti, a slow clap broke the rhythm.

“What a harmonious and loving couple.”

Gebi seed to snap awake, pushing Song Qingshu away before returning to her seat. She downed a cup of wine, her cheeks flushed—whether from the alcohol or embarrassnt was unclear.

Turning, Song Qingshu saw Wanyan Liang standing there and smiled. “You flatter , Your Highness.”

Wanyan Liang was still savoring the sight of Gebi’s slender, snow-white neck as she drank. He even wondered—if not for the crowd, would he have been able to resist the urge to k!ss her? And the shyness she displayed when pushing her husband away only made his heart itch with desire.

Song Qingshu’s voice snapped him back to reality. Seizing the mont, Wanyan Liang pulled him aside and whispered, “About that matter we discussed earlier—how about we do it tonight?”

Song Qingshu seethed inwardly. ‘This Wanyan Liang is truly a lust-driven fiend—he can’t even wait!’

Keeping his expression neutral, he replied, “Tonight might be too rushed. Without proper arrangents, it’ll be hard to deceive either of them.”
