Chapter 248 – Florida Man Quit Job and Spent His Entire Saving in a Phone Ga.
The entire colony dissipated into dust. So supplies, furniture, debris, and random objects remained. The corpses also remained in the sa places.
Overlord Milo watched everything in disbelief. A few seconds later, he gasped in realization.
"That's a player with a kingdom system! Damn, Nu'Earthe! Don't let see you again!!"
Milo grudgingly turned toward the corpses of the hyena werewolves. He blad them for the destruction of Overlord Max's headquarters.
"Tsk! If you hadn't been greedy, we would have crushed that Nu'Earthe and shared the city's loot! Serve you right!"
Milo was similar to Leo. He collected everybody's corpses and remaining supplies to his storage ring. Once everything was accounted for, Overlord Milo reverted to a humanoid werewolf form and teleported back to his battleship.
Upon returning to the bridge, Milo ordered his soldiers.
"Set the course to the rendezvous point of the 7th princess. We'll regroup with them so that we can rebuild our mothership!"
The crew silently barked in response and shifted their attention to the station console in front of them. They adjusted the ship's output, turning it around.
BOOM
The battleship fired seven laser beams in front of the bow and opened a wormhole. It blasted its engine and disappeared into the warp gate.
.
WHOOSH
A day later, Overlord Milo's battleship exited the wormhole and appeared 50,000km away from a fleet of a dozen artificial planets, five cubic motherships, and a thousand of star-destroyer battleships.
Overlord Milo's ship seed small compared to the local battleships here. He gazed at the dazzling lineup and snorted.
"As expected of the war-addicted princess. At this rate, she will beco Queen Eleanor's successor."
Milo thought of the princess with ntal health issues. She might be the prettiest divine elf in the royal family, but her bipolar behavior made it uncomfortable to work with her. He still rembered how the princess killed her subordinates over the slightest disagreent.
"Ha… I still have to report back to her. I might die."
.
.
Leo returned to his domain before Milo could even exit the wormhole. He and the three puppies appeared at the Altar of War.
DING
The third phase of the entity fate crystal quest was completed. Leo got what he wanted at last.
"Hah! Finally, I can WHALE the gacha! What currency do you need? I bet it's my lifespan."
Leo closed the quest nu and checked the TOP-UP option. It showed a new textbox with a string of numbers. Leo's lifespan was highlighted.
[16,912,248]
"Huh?!"
Leo hadn't counted his lifespan for a long ti. When he saw the balance, he was taken aback.
"Man, I'm rich. I guess I can splurge a bit."
There was no button to recharge the currency. However, behind the textbox, another number textbox was visible and flashing. There was also a [ ] icon behind the number.
[0] [ ]
Leo rubbed his chin and grinned. He pressed the plus icon to check how he could top up the currency.
DING
A new screen appeared, revealing the exchange rate of the new currency.
.
1 E-CRYSTAL / 35 YOL
10 E-CRYSTAL / 340 YOL
100 E-CRYSTAL / 3,300 YOL
1,000 E-CRYSTAL / 32,000 YOL
10,000 E-CRYSTAL / 300,000 YOL
.
The exchange rate looked average for a gacha ga knockoff system. However, there were multiple tabs on this top-up screen.
Leo pressed on one of them to inspect it. Unfortunately, the system inford him of a piece of bad news.
"…Is this a scam?"
Leo deeply sighed. He tested the feature by purchasing the cheapest e-crystal package, aka the 10,000 e-crystal package.
CHA-CHING!
Leo's lifespan decreased, but the mysterious currency number box increased by 10,000.
After getting the premium currency, Leo swiped the system screens. He navigated to the gacha page.
As Leo had been saving up, he had 62 tickets for building gacha and 10 tickets for servant gacha. This didn't include a selectable SR building ticket.
"Hehehehe! Alright, f2p rolls first. SHOW THE MONEEEEEEEEEEY!!"
Rolled pressed the 10 1 button and gambled his life away.
…
66 rolls later, Leo glared at the gacha page with bloodshot eyes.
He didn't get a single SR building from the 66 rolls! Instead, he got 60 normal buildings and 6 rare buildings.
"THIS GACHA IS CURSED! MY ID IS CURSED! THIS IS A SCAM!!"
A PTSD flashback from the childhood days ca back to haunt Leo. He recalled the days when he spent all his allowance on a gacha ga and didn't get a desired character from the ga.
Fortunately, the situation was different. Leo was no longer poor and dependent on his parents' wallets.
He had money to spend!
"It doesn't matter. Those were trash tickets. Co on. How much do you need to roll a 10 1?"
Leo rechecked the confirm button. The detail above the buttons changed.
Instead of demanding tickets, the ga allowed Leo to spend the premium currency to get the goodies. Still, the price was concerning.
.
One Roll = 1,600 E-Crystals
10 1 Roll = 16,000 E-Crystals
.
Leo almost vomited blood. This gacha was too expensive.
"Are you kidding ?! I swiped 300,000 YOL, but I don't have enough crystals to roll 10 1?! Which gacha ga company runs this system?! EA?! MIHOYO?! Are you trying to compete with FGO?!"
Leo thrashed and tossed his arms in anger. He wished he could refund his lifespan.
"Dammit! Fine. It would have been a waste if I hadn't tried it at least once. I'll spend so more."
As Leo had two extra tickets, he received a small discount. He only needed an additional 2,800 crystals to do the 10 1 roll.
Unfortunately, Leo's muscle mory acted up. He reopened the top-up nu and chose the 10,000 crystal package without thinking and confird the purchase.
Old habits died hard.
"…Huh?"
Leo's brain successfully computed the data and made him realize the mistake one second after he pressed the button.
"NOOOOOO!! I WASTED MY LIFESPAN!!"
Leo shed a tear of regret. He scratched and ruffed his hair in frustration.
A few minutes later, Leo recovered from the ntal breakdown. He deeply sighed and switched the gacha page to the mannequin gacha.
Leo had enough free buildings. He wanted more helpers.
Not expecting anything, Leo pressed the 10 1 roll and spent the free tickets.
DING-DING-DING
10 grey balls and one blue ball ca out. As Leo had seen them 66 tis already, he closed the screen.
10 mannequin workers and one cashier erged. They stood in formation, looking at their new master.
Leo blanky assigned them tasks according to their specialties. The crowd dispersed and ran toward their new workplaces.
After the crowd was gone, Leo picked up the confused puppies and dragged his feet back to his bus. He ignored the local people and entered his bedroom.
He didn't notice that his people were busy carrying pieces of broken drones, jets, and battleships toward the junkyard.
.
.
In the bedroom, Leo found Esen sleeping in his bed. He frowned and checked the ti.
2PM. It was too early for soone to go to sleep.
"This brat. She's getting lazier."
Leo carried the puppies outside the bus to find soone to take care of them. When he left the bus, he found Yao Qiqi, who explored the parking lot for fun.
"Oh, hey little girl. Co here for a second."
Yao Qiqi stopped exploring the empty parking lot and ran toward Leo. She spotted the three golden retriever puppies and brightly smiled.
"They are so cute! Can I have them?"
"…"
Leo was about to ask Yao Qiqi to find a caretaker. Since Yao Qiqi was a monster tar, she might suit the job.
"Alright. I'll give you so special food to feed them. Take care of these guys. They just lost their parents."
"A Poor babies."
Yao Qiqi hugged the dogs. The puppies sensed her emotion and licked her to cheer her up.
"Hehehe! I think they like !"
"…Yeah. Sure. Take them to see your master."
"Yes, senior!"
Yao Qiqi carried the three puppies and flew out of the parking lot.
ntally tired and physically exhausted, Leo felt like taking a nap. He entered his bus and took a bath. Afterward, he slipped into the bed to cuddle with his lovely wife.
Sensing Leo, Esen slightly opened her eyes. When she noticed that he only cuddled with her and fell asleep, she faintly smiled and nudged her head against his chest to mark her scent on him like a cat.
"…Welco ho, hubby."
Esen uttered in a faint voice. She was embarrassed but it gave her a fuzzy feeling in her chest.
Soon, it would be their official wedding ceremony. She looked forward to it.
