At night, Felix stayed awake, volunteering to be a night watch guard for the family. Everyone but Felix went to sleep, except for Roland.
Roland was a two-circle mage who excelled at supporting spells such as appraisal and detection. He had also mastered the art of mana circulation, allowing him to need less sleep - only one hour instead of six each day!
The lord had already had enough sleep. Instead of waking up, Roland circulated mana inside his body while pretending to be asleep, observing Felix's actions. However, Felix never showed any signs of hostility toward the family or engaged in any suspicious activity, except when he went out to take care of personal business, such as urinating.
At 1 AM, Roland stopped acting. He stood up and approached Felix.
"Sir, you can take a break now. I'll take it from here until morning."
Felix nodded and checked the mini-map. Not even a hostile wild animal was present in their area.
After making sure that their camp was safe for the night, Felix lay on the ground to get so sleep. He didn't forget to remind Jessica.
"Jessica, if sothing happens, wake up, alright?"
