Despite the rough terrain, Felix's truck plowed through the rubble and charred fir trees. Black ash swirled in the air, but none penetrated the yellowish do surrounding the vehicle, thanks to its barrier function.
Felix leaned back, half-relieved by the smooth ride until a sudden rumble behind him caught his attention.
The ground collapsed, revealing a massive sinkhole that exposed bedrock more than 100 ters below.
Felix raised an eyebrow but kept driving. Just as he thought the danger was behind him, a deafening explosion echoed in front of the truck. Without warning, a pillar of fla shot up from the ground, stretching like a fiery beacon into the sky.
Felix slamd the brakes, bringing the truck to a screeching halt.
"What the hell?!" His heart skipped a beat, and he stared at the fiery column in disbelief. He knew the land was unstable, but an underground fla pillar? That was new.
"Jessica, what's going on?!"
