Nina Sinclair returned to her apartnt.

At this ti, Julian Lancaster should not be back yet. She could only wait for him at ho, suspecting any noise outside might be Julian returning, and would imdiately get up to check.

Unfortunately, several tis it wasn’t Julian, leaving her feeling quite embarrassed.

Waiting like this wasn’t a solution; what if he didn’t co back tonight? What if he had to work overti?

Nina held her phone, hesitating whether to call him. But if Julian was busy now, would it be inappropriate to call him out of the blue?

While she was deeply conflicted, there was another noise outside.

She imdiately put down the phone and opened the door.

This ti it was truly Julian returning!

Nina looked at him with an excited face and said, "Julian, you’re back."

Julian saw Nina open the door and run to et him, like a wife waiting for her husband to return.

His eyes flickered slightly, then he revealed a faint smile, and asked softly, "Were you waiting for ?"

"Uh..." Nina suddenly felt a bit too excited.

It’s because she had been disappointed so many tis before that seeing him now made her so excited.

"I have sothing I want to ask you, are you available now?"

"You can talk to anyti."

Hearing Julian’s affectionate tone, Nina felt a sense of realization, as if they hadn’t fought yet, and were still as they used to be.

"Shall we go to your place?" Julian asked.

Nina quickly nodded, "Alright."

She opened the door to let Julian in. Five minutes later, they were sitting on the sofa in the living room.

Julian gazed deeply at Nina, not speaking imdiately, as if waiting for her to speak first.

Nina poured a cup of tea for Julian, sitting on the opposite side of him.

She looked at Julian and directly asked, "Julian, I want to ask you, do you know the person in charge of H Investnts, President Lennox?"

Julian raised his eyebrows at her words, he roughly knew that Nina had found out about his help.

He smiled and said, "He’s a friend of mine."

"So you asked him to invest in my brand, right?"

"Yes."

Having gotten Julian’s affirmative answer, Nina felt a complex mix of emotions, not knowing what to say for a mont.

"But we..."

"You have the ability but struggle to find investnt, and I rely recomnded you to Simon Lennox. Whether he wants to invest is his decision." Julian softly comforted her, "You shouldn’t feel any burden."

Nina pressed her lips together, still feeling sowhat uneasy.

But at the ti, President Lennox’s attitude towards her was too polite, completely unlike what Julian had described.

She always thought that since they had no relationship now, she shouldn’t accept his help in various ways. He had no obligation to help her.

Now Julian himself is facing difficulties, if he asks soone for help, it might incur a considerable favor debt.

However, Julian had already intervened, and she had signed a contract with President Lennox, it would seem petty to say more now.

Nina looked gratefully at Julian and said, "I don’t know how to thank you."

Julian gently curled his lips into a smile and said, "If you don’t know how to thank ..."

His voice paused, and Nina’s mood beca anxious.

She feared Julian might say sothing she found difficult to accept, yet there was a faint expectation in her heart.

Her emotions were very complex for a mont.

Julian saw Nina’s cautious and worried deanor, smiled and said, "If you really want to thank , then cook a al. I haven’t had your cooking for a long ti."

Haven’t had your cooking for a long ti.

When Nina heard this, she recalled the days back in Veridia, when she still didn’t know Julian’s identity, they also had sweet tis.

Her eyes reddened, almost ready to cry.

How did Julian and she end up like this?
