Nina Sinclair’s expression froze when she heard Joel Thatcher’s words.

I politely declined, saying I had business. Later, I found out, guess what? The Lancaster Family plans to announce Julian Lancaster’s engagent at the birthday banquet!"
"If your husband is Julian Lancaster, then he lied to you about the trip, and it turns out he’s attending a birthday banquet and getting engaged, leaving you behind! You better wise up!"
