Standing at the back, Felix Ford silently lanted. Because Nina Sinclair refused to accept the flowers from President Lancaster, he had been in this mood the entire day.
Just then, a ring shattered the tense atmosphere.
The crowd looked terrified. Who dared not put their phone on silent today, knowing President Lancaster was in a bad mood?
While everyone was shocked, Julian Lancaster took out his phone from his pocket. He frowned at the phone for a mont, seemingly hesitating whether to answer it.
A mont later, he said two words, "Dismissed."
After speaking, Julian Lancaster stood up and walked out of the eting room.
Nina Sinclair waited a long while, and Julian Lancaster still didn’t answer. She sensed sothing was off. Could sothing have happened to Julian?
Just as Nina was thinking of reaching out to soone else, the phone connected.
"Hello," Julian Lancaster’s voice ca through.
"Ju...Julian, are you okay? Why aren’t you returning my ssages or answering the phone? Were you too busy today? Are you still coming to pick up after work today?" Nina Sinclair asked a series of questions.
There was a mont of silence on Julian’s end.
Just when Nina thought he had disconnected, he said, "I’m on my way."
After saying that, Julian hung up the call.
Nina Sinclair’s anxious heart slightly relaxed. She had thought sothing had happened to Julian. Then why didn’t he reply to her ssages?
However, since he was on his way, she had to hurry downstairs.
With that in mind, she quickly grabbed her bag and went downstairs to wait for Julian.
When she got downstairs, she already saw Julian’s car there. She walked over and opened the car door.

He didn’t understand what Nina Sinclair was thinking. Her refusal to accept his gift felt to him like a rejection, yet she still acted as if nothing was wrong and even asked why he didn’t respond to her ssages.
