The three turned around and ran, unaware that there were cops waiting at the door.

Soon, the three were captured.

Keith Donovan greeted Jas Grant and Evelyn Clayton, "I’ll handle things at the police station. Did you get any useful information?"

"Not much. Have the police do a thorough interrogation, don’t miss any details."

Keith Donovan smiled helplessly and patted Jas Grant on the shoulder.

"Do you need to teach the police how to do their job? Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it. But you should also be prepared ntally, these guys don’t seem like they’d confess easily."

Evelyn Clayton quickly picked up the check that had fallen on the ground.

"Money grubber." Jas Grant laughed lightly.

"I’m picking it up for you, alright!" Evelyn Clayton stuffed the check into his hand, sat back in her chair, and sighed, "What a waste of ti coming here."

"Not completely wasted." Jas Grant sat down too, took a sip of coffee, "Soone wanted to deal with you, and soone wanted to deal with . But yesterday’s troublemakers wanted to take us all down in one go."

Evelyn Clayton pondered for a mont, "Indeed. We don’t have much overlap in our social circles. As long as we investigate thoroughly, we should find sothing."

"We’ll have to wait for the police to investigate slowly."

Logically, Evelyn Clayton believed waiting was worthwhile.

But emotionally, she’d been tornted by her father’s past for so long, she didn’t want to keep waiting without progress.

She frowned deeply, her face unchanged from her worries.

Seeing her puffed-up cheeks, Jas Grant couldn’t resist pinching her and chuckled genuinely, "Your face is quite tender."

Evelyn Clayton rolled her eyes at him, "Jas Grant, can you stop being so boring?"

Jas Grant restrained his smile, "Co with ."

"Where to?"

"To relax."

Evelyn Clayton was about to say she had a lot of work today, but Jas Grant grabbed her and left the hotel to get in the car.

All the way, Evelyn Clayton guessed several tis, but never expected Jas Grant to take her skiing.

"I can’t ski."

She had only skied once with Yara Reagan.

They couldn’t bear to hire a ski coach, and after a few falls, they swore never to embarrass themselves at the ski resort again.

The ski resort staff were familiar with Jas Grant, and greeted him as soon as they saw him.

"Jas Grant, didn’t you hear speaking?"

Evelyn Clayton had a hunch she’d embarrass herself again today and firmly refused to go to the VIP locker room with Jas Grant.

Jas Grant stopped to wait for her, his phoenix eyes shifting slightly, "I’ll teach you."

Evelyn Clayton grumbled, displeased, "Decided without asking."

In the end, she couldn’t argue with him. Evelyn Clayton had to change into the ski suit prepared by the staff.

Her suit was pink and Jas Grant’s was blue, looking a bit like a matching couple’s set.

Jas Grant was tall, and even in the thick ski wear he didn’t look bulky; rather, it made him look very reassuring.

Ignoring her gaze, Jas Grant skillfully headed to the ski field.

Jas Grant took her to the VIP exclusive ski area, more spacious and cleaner than the ordinary one.

The vast whiteness was very beautiful.

Just as Evelyn Clayton was about to admire the scenery, she felt hands suddenly on her waist.

No need to ask, it was definitely Jas Grant.

His hands were already large and, with the ski gloves on, he easily encircled her waist completely.

"Go down from here. Slow down, and reduce speed when you hit the slope."

Jas Grant spoke by her ear, his warm breath blending with the cold wind, tunneling into her ear.

Goosebumps appeared on her neck, thankfully covered by clothes.

"Why are you daydreaming? Let’s start."

Evelyn Clayton swung the ski pole, initially unsure, her movents small.

But thinking that Jas Grant was protecting her, her steps beca much steadier.

"Good. Take it slow, don’t rush."

Encouraged by Jas Grant, she gradually increased her speed, zigzagging down the first slope.

She did it!

Overco with excitent, Evelyn Clayton instinctively turned and hugged Jas Grant, cheering.

"I learned it!"

His breath brought the soft and pleasant scent of her body, causing Jas Grant’s body to stiffen slightly, his hand on her waist involuntarily tightened.
