Seeing the eager curiosity in Winnie Wyatt’s eyes, Evelyn Clayton found it quite amusing.
She thought for a mont and said, "As far as I know, no. But even though we live under the sa roof, not everything is shared. Specifically, you might have to interact with him yourself to find out."
Evelyn was kind enough to cheer her on, "Congratulations in advance."
Winnie Wyatt’s face turned red instantly, and she softly said thank you before turning around to leave.
Before long, May returned.
"How was it, how was it? I saw Winnie Wyatt leave with a red face just now. Did you hit her, Evelyn?"
Seeing May’s excited expression and hearing her words, Evelyn couldn’t help but burst into laughter, "What, am I a bully in your eyes?"
"That’s not what I ant! People just want to see a real-life dramatic novel! Don’t you think so?" May laughed, "Winnie Wyatt was so arrogant before, always having a bad attitude towards you. Now she’s scared, right?"
"Not necessarily, she did co to apologize to , but she didn’t seem scared of doing sothing to her either. Besides, I didn’t intend to hear her apology."
May had an expression of "I should have known" and sighed, "Ah, Evelyn, I should have expected this from you. With your temperant, you surely wouldn’t bother with soone like her."
Evelyn chuckled, "It’s not that I have a good temperant, it’s that there’s no need."
Why bother getting upset with soone like Winnie Wyatt? There’s no conflict of interest between the two of them. In Laprite, there wasn’t any, and now that they’re not even in the sa departnt, it matters even less.
At most, it’s about the annual report, seeing whose departnt performs better, and whose reputation shines brighter.
This kind of thing never concerned Evelyn.
"Alright, you head out. I need to call my family."
"Okay!"
After May left, Evelyn took out her phone and dialed Pauline Warren to report on today’s eting.
Pauline Warren answered quickly, seeming a bit eager, "I was just thinking the eting should have ended by now and was about to call you to ask, and then you called! How did it go?"
"Everything went smoothly," Evelyn replied with a smile in her voice, "It’s just that the work reporting took a bit long, so it occupied the entire morning. The matter of share transfer was discussed in less than twenty minutes."
Evelyn was used to sharing good news and hiding worries. She didn’t want Pauline to worry, and she certainly didn’t want Pauline to know about the embarrassnt caused by Blake Carter. So unnecessary things can just be left unsaid.
Luckily, Pauline didn’t ask much, she just said with relief, "That weight on my heart has finally lifted. Now that your identity is out in the open, we can all attend various events together as a family."
In the past, Evelyn seldom attended any social events or parties in the high society of Aethelburg.
Firstly, because she herself didn’t really enjoy such occasions, and secondly because she didn’t have an appropriate identity for them.
There wasn’t much if she went as Evelyn Clayton, or even as the CEO of Gem, but she had always deliberately concealed her whereabouts, with most outsiders thinking she had passed away without a funeral.
Even though a small group of people knew she was still alive, Evelyn didn’t feel there was any need to engage with them.
