Pauline Warren ca out of the kitchen to find Shane Sinclair and Evelyn Clayton chatting leisurely, and hurriedly urged them.
"You two go change your clothes quickly, people will be arriving soon."
Shane Sinclair and Evelyn Clayton were both dressed in casual ho clothes, comfortable but looking rather loose.
Pauline Warren had chosen clothes for them to wear today the night before and was busy urging them now.
Shane Sinclair, although reluctant, turned around and left.
Just as Evelyn Clayton was about to leave, Pauline Warren called her back.
"Evelyn, your aunt is coming today. Whatever she says or does, don’t take it to heart." Pauline Warren held Evelyn’s hand, speaking in a sowhat coaxing tone. "You’ve t her before; she’s a bit strong-willed but actually has a good heart."
Listening to Pauline Warren’s suggestive words, Evelyn Clayton found it both amusing and annoying.
However, she didn’t want to make Pauline Warren uncomfortable, so she nodded, "Don’t worry, Mom, I understand."
Soon, it was nearing lunchti.
Yvette Warren arrived late, almost half an hour after the Sinclair family’s usual lunch ti.
"Everyone waiting for ?" Yvette Warren smiled faintly, "Sorry about that, the road was a bit congested, so I’m late."
"Sister, co in and have a seat." Pauline Warren looked a bit tense, and after seating Yvette on the sofa, she found herself unsure of what to say.
Yvette Warren appeared much more relaxed, her gaze sweeping towards Evelyn Clayton and Sharon.
Sharon was obediently staying by Evelyn Clayton’s side, her big eyes curiously examining Yvette Warren.
Yvette Warren increased her smile, "This is Sharon, isn’t it? It’s the first ti I’m seeing her grown up; co on, let your great-aunt take a look."
Sharon, though shy, walked up to Yvette Warren confidently, allowing her to hold her hand and examine her.
Evelyn Clayton looked at Yvette Warren’s ambiguous smile, feeling an inexplicable tension.
This woman seed to naturally have a certain presence, making it impossible to ignore or underestimate her.
"Good child, very pretty." Yvette Warren smiled and took a box from her bag, opening it for Sharon to see.
Inside was a substantial White Jade Lock, threaded with a red cord, its value obvious even at a glance.
Yvette Warren took it out and put it on Sharon, carefully observing her, eyes filled with genuine affection.
After a mont, she murmured, "Good child, you look just like your mother."
Pauline Warren couldn’t quite understand what Yvette Warren’s actions ant, but she couldn’t say anything else, only smiling and saying, "Sharon, quickly thank your great-aunt."
"Thank you, great-aunt," Sharon said sweetly, boldly staring at Yvette Warren.
Yvette Warren saw her gaze and chuckled, narrowing her eyes, "Why is Sharon looking at like that?"
Sharon, shyly, said, "Great-aunt is beautiful; Sharon likes you."
Yvette Warren was montarily surprised, her smile deepening.
A mont later, she looked at Evelyn Clayton and smiled, "Evelyn, you’ve raised Sharon very well."
Evelyn Clayton smiled, "Aunt, you’re teasing. Sharon is just a child; she wasn’t taught to say that."
Yvette Warren raised an eyebrow slightly, "Oh? Then it seems the child truly likes ."
"Of course." Evelyn Clayton smiled gently, "Aunt is good to children; they naturally feel it."
Yvette Warren exchanged a knowing smile with Evelyn Clayton, and in that mont of eye contact, they both understood each other’s intentions.
In silence, Evelyn Clayton had already agreed to the "cooperation" Yvette Warren had ntioned the other day.
